DISNEY+ HIDES THE 1 REASON WHY TAYLOR SWIFT'S ERAS TOUR MOVIE IS MISSING "'TIS
THE DAMN SEASON"

By Jordan Williams
Published 1 day ago

The absence of one song in Disney's The Eras Tour movie hides the reason why
"'Tis the Damn Season" is missing from Taylor Swift's filmed setlist.

Custom image by Debanjana Chowdhury

SUMMARY

 * "'tis the damn season" was replaced with "no body, no crime" during Taylor's
2023 tour dates when HAIM opened, impacting the Eras Tour movie sets.
 * "no body, no crime" was played instead of "'tis the damn season" when The
Eras Tour movie was filmed in Los Angeles.
 * Some songs, like "'tis the damn season" and "invisible string," weren't
filmed on those dates and couldn't be included in the concert movie.

Taylor Swift’s evermore song “‘tis the damn season” isn’t included on The Eras
Tour (Taylor’s Version), but the Disney+ movie’s cuts keep the reason for its
absence hidden. Each new version of The Eras Tour movie has extended the film by
featuring songs that were originally omitted from the theatrical release, but
there are still some key songs that didn’t make their way into the 48-song
Disney+ movie The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version). Though most main setlist songs
previously cut were presumably removed due to time constraints, the absence of
“‘tis the damn season” had a clear reason that could have been explained with a
different track’s inclusion.

Since the concert movie only includes songs that were performed at The Eras
Tour’s filmed August 3–5 Los Angeles dates, the main setlist had a few
differences from the songs featured on other dates. While Disney+'s The Eras
Tour movie re-added songs from these shows like “cardigan,” “The Archer,”
“Wildest Dreams,” and “Long Live” back to the film’s setlist, some tracks are
still missing. Furthermore, one of the two Los Angeles songs still missing from
the Disney+ Eras Tour movie is the track that replaced “‘tis the damn season” on
these concert dates, therefore leaving the evermore tune’s omission a mystery
for those unfamiliar with the 2023 setlist changes.

TAYLOR SWIFT REPLACED "'TIS THE DAMN SEASON" WITH "NO BODY, NO CRIME" IN HER LOS
ANGELES SETLIST

Close

On every date that the band HAIM (Alana, Danielle, and Este Haim) opened for
Taylor Swift on the 2023 Eras Tour, the concert’s setlist replaced “‘tis the
damn season” with “no body, no crime” during the evermore era. This is because
HAIM was featured on “no body, no crime,” so Swift brought out the group to
perform the song with her in lieu of her solo “‘tis the damn season” track. HAIM
only opened for Taylor Swift on 10 dates in 2023, which included each of her
shows in Seattle, Santa Clara, and Los Angeles.

As such, “no body, no crime” was the song played during evermore rather than
“‘tis the damn season” when The Eras Tour movie was filmed at SoFi Stadium.
Swift still hasn’t confirmed exactly why “no body, no crime” was left off The
Eras Tour movie despite being performed on the filmed dates, but it remains one
of two songs from those shows that has been cut from each version of the film,
alongside “Seven (Interlude).” However, without its inclusion in The Eras Tour
movie, the millions of concertgoers who didn’t attend Swift’s HAIM-opening shows
may be confused about why “‘tis the damn season” is missing.

“no body, no crime” was the song played during evermore rather than “‘tis the
damn season” when The Eras Tour movie was filmed at SoFi Stadium.

THE ERAS TOUR (TAYLOR'S VERSION) CUTTING "NO BODY, NO CRIME" MAKES THE ABSENCE
OF "'TIS THE DAMN SEASON" MORE DISAPPOINTING

It’s been theorized that the HAIM-featuring “no body, no crime” was cut in order
to keep all songs in the film as solo Taylor Swift numbers, but that doesn’t
automatically mean that “‘tis the damn season” would have alternatively been
kept in the movie if filmed on a different date. Still, considering Swift
restored the major missing songs from her main setlist for The Eras Tour
(Taylor’s Version) on Disney+, it seems likely that “‘tis the damn season” would
have been included in the extended version had it been performed on those dates.

The main reason why “‘tis the damn season” is absent is because "no body, no
crime" was performed for those dates instead, which makes it more frustrating
that the HAIM track was cut from the movie. Since “no body, no crime" was only
played for a select few dates, the erasure of both songs is disappointing for
those who saw it performed and those who didn’t. While “‘tis the damn season”
would have been exciting for concertgoers who only saw “no body, no crime”
performed to see in the movie, the reverse may be true for those who only saw
Swift perform “‘tis the damn season.”

There's a deeper significance to Taylor Swift's performance of "Cardigan" from
Folklore finally being included in The Eras Tour movie on Disney+.

"'TIS THE DAMN SEASON" IS ONE OF THE ONLY MISSING ERAS TOUR SETLIST SONGS THAT
WASN'T FILMED

After Taylor Swift heads back on The Eras Tour in 2024 and finishes her final
concert dates, she’ll have performed over 150 shows for the world tour. Out of
the more than 150 shows, only ten will have been missing “‘tis the damn season”
from the setlist. However, “‘tis the damn season” isn’t the only song that has
been replaced from the main setlist, as Swift’s first few shows in her 2023 Eras
Tour featured “invisible string” as the first evermore song, later being
replaced by “the 1.”

On the dates in May 2023 when Phoebe Bridgers opened for Taylor Swift, the pair
performed their song "Nothing New" during the Red set.

Consequently, “‘tis the damn season” and “invisible string” are two of the only
main setlist songs from The Eras Tour that were never filmed, not including the
ever-changing "surprise songs" from her acoustic sets. Though songs like “no
body, no crime” and “Seven (Interlude)” were filmed and thus could still
potentially be added to Disney+ as songs for bonus features or extras included
with The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), there’s no such chance for “‘tis the damn
season” or “invisible string.” However, with “‘tis the damn season” still being
performed in Swift’s remaining The Eras Tour concert dates, it’s always possible
for another concert to secretly be filmed.
