THIS little drink has gained quite the cult following for many years before we opened Ironstone....Such a following that people would often want to CHALLENGE each other for a bottle at RIch's parties many years ago.This creation takes 3 days to piece together during the last week of September every year, then at least 8 months of fermenting before being released ONLY around Halloween 13 months after its piecing together.So what IS it? it's LOCAL, AMISH cider from the Miller family whom RIch has dealt with for 15 yrs of making this. this is REAL cider, with Rich lending a hand loading apples in the old world press.Then once back at the meadery, the magic happens.... Blended over the course of a few days with Cinnamon and Clove then blending the honey in ( organic Brazilian honey), which takes 8 hours on it's own.....And after all that, it is left alone to slow-ferment till at least April before anything more happens.TRULY a unique sipping mead that has a tiny bite while being very smooth to the palate.Definitely one you'll be wanting at the end of many days....In fact, those who've had it know their mouth is watering right.....about.....NOW! $56.00 Tupelo Tupelo- 13% Abv. Tupelo is a very HARD to get honey, sourced only from Tupelo groves in southern USA. The Tupelo trees only blossom for 3-4 weeks so the bees and keepers need work fast to collect honey. This truly is a very fine mead and extremely special. This extremely interesting libation takes a total of 9 months to make, as it's a very multi-step process after initial 4 months fermentation.The end result, a very sweet but not obnoxiously sweet drink that reminds folks of an Old World gingerbread cookie.
