Fancy seeing you here for the second front page post of the day. It's that time of year again, spooky season is upon us and that means a jam-packed Halloween update! This year we'll of course be releasing our favorite Halloween game once again, Halloween Havoc is back with some much needed bug fixes, new mechanics, new puzzles and of course some new prizes. Gather 3 of your friends or dive in head first with 3 strangers to complete the puzzles, fight the bosses and slay the fearsome Pumpkin King! Flaming pumpkins are back! These pumpkins will appear randomly throughout every game on Mineplex. Break them and they'll explode into gems and shards or if you're extremely lucky you might even receive a free month of Immortal! We have also brought back our lobby trick or treat event, visit the NPCs throughout the lobby with your best costume and they might just give you a little treat or... trick. Trick or treat resets daily! And while you're in the lobby make sure to complete our Halloween treasure hunt for an awesome reward! Read More Cake Wars Solo Java EditionPosted by DeanTM, 2021-10-14 Happy October! Today we're releasing a highly requested addition to Cake Wars on our Java server. Cake Wars Solo. It's all the Cake Wars fun you're used to but this time you're on your own against 7 other players! As always our lovely Timmi6790 has been hard at work to deliver this update to you. Cake Wars Solo features some unique items and mechanics to balance the game around these teams of 1, like an auto defense trap, a base teleport item and the Polly launcher to shoot an angry Polly the sheep at your enemies or their defenses! In addition, we have also made some balance changes and fixed some bugs for all versions of Cake Wars. We have merged all the different shops into one NPC with an entirely new shop design, a capture point neutralization system and block cracking for use of multiple Pollies. Read More General Bug Fix & Developer UpdatePosted by DeanTM, 2021-08-04 Hello everyone! I am extremely excited to announce a long awaited update. If you weren't aware yet, Timmi6790 has recently joined the Mineplex team as our new Java Edition developer! Being an already amazing member of the QA team I have no doubt that he will do great as a developer as well, please wish him luck in this new role. Lucky for us though, Timmi has already been hard at work over the past little while fixing some pesky bugs and long-standing issues. The changelog for this, along with some other general development updates will be listed below. We really do apologize for the lack of updates Java Edition has received over the last several months but hope to make it up to you by bringing you quite a few in the near future, thank you for your patience! Backend updates We are currently in the process of updating some of our backend systems. Without going into too much technical talk, these updates should improve our servers stability and reliability as well as give us more options to do some cool stuff. As you might imagine a project like this requires quite some time. However, hopefully you will be able to see some improvements related to server performance in the future! Version Support As some, if not most of you are aware, Mineplex's version support currently is not the best. Especially players playing the later versions of Minecraft can experience some quirky block issues or silly bugs, sometimes even making our games unplayable for them. Fear not! We are completely redoing how we handle version support. Not only will this improve our current situation, it will also make it MUCH easier for us to add support for newer versions as they are released. A win for us and therefore you guys as well! Clans A topic a lot of players are passionate about is Clans. I am personally aware you guys have been promised a new season for quite a while now and I must ask you to hold on for just that bit longer if you can. Our dev team is still working on it and the build team is currently hard at work to make an entirely new map with new... well basically everything! The wait is long and I know promises haven't been kept, that is why I will not make a new promise today. Just know that a new clans season is imminent and you will be able to play it SOONtm. This year we prepped and released the holiday update a bit differently. We started off by opening up a discussion with you guys on what you wanted to see the most this year and oh boy you guys gave us a lot of suggestions. From making changes to Christmas Chaos to bringing back the advent calendar, we made sure to give you guys a little bit of everything. The update this year was also released in parts due to time restrictions which is why this thread is coming out a bit later than usual. 2020 has been quite the year for all of us so we hope this update brings some joy to you and your friends this holiday season. Holiday Update - Java Edition Changelog - Advent Calendar brought back - Christmas Chaos II brought back - 7 brand new additions to the frozen treasure - Brand new holiday words for Draw My Thing & Master Builders! - Introduced our seasonal Holiday lobbies for the hub & MPS - Reintroduced the Christmas Treasure hunt! Find the 30 presents around the lobby and unlock the Christmas Ornaments Gadget and an Omega Chest! - Holiday Map Update - Added this month's Immortal Cosmetic, Kangaroo Jump. Miscellaneous - Fixed an issue where certain morphs were able to spam their abilities - Fixed some of the freedom particles not displaying correctly - Made optimizations to reduce the amount of network traffic we sent to each player. This in turn should reduce the amount of freezing and network lag that EU players especially have when playing on Mineplex. The spooky season is upon us again and of course we are bringing our yearly Halloween update with it. This year we completely reworked Halloween Havoc from the ground up, you can expect significant changes to kits to make them more balanced, some awesome cosmetic prizes for winning both challenger and normal mode, new puzzles and mechanics and a brand new map to enhance the spooky experience made by our lovely build team. Speaking of maps, the build team has worked very hard these past couple of weeks because not only is there a new map for Halloween Havoc, there are also a brand new spooky lobby for both java and bedrock as well as a pre-game lobby for java. Lastly, we have of course brought back the Halloween cosmetic chests, Creepy Cauldron and the Legacy Halloween Treasure, which will be purchasable in-game and in our website shop. Halloween Havoc: * Revamp of the entire game with a new map! * Queues for Normal and Challenger modes are now separate to prevent leavers. * Ultimate charge is now earned more through hits rather than damage. This makes it so all the kits more evenly earn their ultimate. * Added health bars to all mobs. * Mobs can no longer be "kited" as easily. Kit Changes Berserker * Flame Charge damage and knockback increased. * Flame Charge collision detection improved. * Blind Rage now knocks back enemies. Archer * Barrage can now hit the same enemy multiple times. * Arrow Storm changed to Flaming Arrows, firing twin flames which deal damage to all enemies caught in it. Mage * Blizzard damage increased. * Fire Blast now works like Inferno from champions, sending out blaze powder which cause enemies to catch fire. * Healing Wisps now always spawns 4 wisps. If there are 3 players alive, the extra one will go towards the player that has the lowest health. * Healing Wisps healing reduced from 3 to 2.5 hearts. * The World radius reduced by 2 blocks. Rogue * Swift Strike cooldown is now 8 seconds. Every hit on an enemy reduces the cooldown by 0.5 seconds. * Recall now teleports you to a teammate with the least amount of mobs around them, sending out a damage aura from where you teleport from and to. You also heal 4 hearts. * Aura Blade changed to Rogue's Instinct, reduces Swift Strike's cooldown to 1 second, ignites all enemies hit and increases damage by 25%. * Rogue now only gains speed when dealing damage.
