 * WHAT IS CIVIL FORFEITURE?
   
   Civil forfeiture is an archaic system that enables the government to keep a
   person’s cash or property without a criminal conviction.

 * HOW DO I GET MY CAR, CASH, OR PROPERTY BACK?
   
   The civil forfeiture system can be confusing and complicated. If the
   government has taken your car, cash, or property, please submit a case.

 * DO I HAVE A RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL?
   
   The Kansas Constitution says that the “right to a jury trial shall be
   inviolate.” At the same time, the Kansas Legislature prohibits jury trials in
   civil forfeiture cases. K.S.A. 60-4113(h). For more information, please
   submit a case.
