ACTIVATION INSTRUCTIONS Our systems conversion is complete, and all systems are back up and running. You are now able to access your accounts and use your debit cards through Tongass FCU. Here is what you can do now to get started! (Instructions are shown below) 1. Activate your new Tongass FCU debit card (if you are a debit card user). 2. Activate your new Tongass FCU Online Banking. 3. Download and start using the Tongass FCU Mobile Banking App. We are available for any help you may need. You can call us at (800) 960-8328 or stop by your local branch or microsite. To activate your new Tongass FCU debit card: 1. Follow the instructions included in the mailer with your new debit card. The number to call is (800) 290-7893. 2. When you activate your new Tongass FCU debit card, you will be asked to setup your PIN number. You can choose a new PIN or use your existing PIN. 3. If you do not have the instructions or experience any issues with setup, please call us at (800) 960-8328. If you have not received your debit card in the mail. You can stop by your local branch and we can issue you a new card. If you are not located near a Tongass FCU location, please call us. If you received multiple debit cards: You received multiple cards because you were listed on multiple accounts. To resolve this, please call us or stop by a branch, and we'll let you know which card goes with which account. To activate your online banking: 1. Go to the online banking link (make sure to bookmark it for future use or access it via the orange Online Banking button at the top of our website). 2. You'll use your temporary login to get started. The temporary login is: * Username: Your NEW MEMBER NUMBER - this will be your ALPS member number with a 90- prefix. For example, if your current member number is 12345, your new member number will be 9012345. * Password: Your temporary password is set as the last 4 of the PRIMARY member's SSN. Please note, this may not be your SSN, if you are not the primary member on the account. 3. Follow the prompts to complete your online setup. If you need to know your Member Number, please email admin@tongassfcu.com (include your phone number so we can call you with your number) or call us at (800) 960-8328. To setup your mobile app: 1. Visit the android or apple store and download the app. (Android) (Apple iOS) 2. If you have already setup online banking, you'll use the username and password that you setup. 3. If you have not setup online banking, you'll do it now. Use your temporary login to get started. The temporary login is: * Username: Your NEW MEMBER NUMBER - this will be your ALPS member number with a 90- prefix. For example, if your current member number is 12345, your new member number will be 9012345. * Password: Your temporary password is set as the last 4 of the PRIMARY member's SSN. Please note, this may not be your SSN, if you are not the primary member on the account. 4. Follow the prompts to complete your online setup. MEMBER NUMBERS: Your new member number (after 08/01) will be your current member number with a 90 prefix. For example, if your current member number is 12345, your new member number will be 9012345. If you need to know your Member Number, please email admin@tongassfcu.com (include your phone number so we can call you with your number) or call us at (800) 960-8328. ACCOUNTS: Checking Accounts: All accounts will be transferring to a Tongass FCU account, effective August 1, 2023.Your current checking account will be transitioned to a comparable Tongass account, effective August 1st. You will receive a mailing outlining your new account type. You will also be able to make changes to your account type if you are not happy with what we’ve set up for you. For information about checks, see below. Savings Accounts: All accounts will be transferring to a Tongass FCU account, effective August 1, 2023. There will be no changes to savings accounts. Your account number will stay the same, and the $5.00 minimum balance will still be required. Youth Accounts: All accounts will be transferring to a Tongass FCU account, effective August 1, 2023.There will be no changes to Youth Accounts; however, if you use a debit card with the account, you will receive a new debit card in the mail. ACH & DIRECT DEPOSITS: Existing direct deposits, ACH payments, e-checks and recurring debit card transactions will continue to work as they do now through the ALPS FCU routing number. However, after August 1, 2023, if you set up any new direct deposits or automatic withdrawals, please contact us to get the correct MICR number and use Tongass FCU’s routing number 325272306. ACH TRANSFERS THROUGH ONLINE BANKING: Tongass FCU has a service called Account to Account (A2A) Transfers that will replace the ALPS home banking ACH transfers through home banking. A2A transfers are an easy, quick option through online banking that we think you'll really like! (please note: A2A accounts can only occur to/from accounts that you are an owner of.) You will have to re-establish these transfer through A2A and the Tongass FCU online banking. To re-establish these transfers, we'll need to verify your ownership of the accounts you're transferring to/from. To do this: 1. Get proof of ownership of the account (example: statement, copy of physical check, or a letter on letterhead from the other financial institution). 2. Send via email to the Tongass FCU Contact Center or drop it off at your local Tongass FCU branch. 3. We will then get your new A2A service setup in online banking. At that time, you can setup the frequency and amount of transfers, as you wish. BILL PAY: Bill Pay users will need to setup Bill Pay again in the Tongass FCU online banking system. Instructions for setup will be provided via email to all current Bill Pay users and on this page. BRANCH HOURS: There will not be any changes to hours at the Sitka and Petersburg locations. You will have increased access though, through more locations, expanded online banking and mobile app, and Contact Center access. BUSINESS ACCOUNTS: All accounts will be transferring to a Tongass FCU account, effective August 1, 2023. All existing ALPS Business checking accounts will be transitioned to Tongass FCU Business Accounts. Tongass FCU Business Checking accounts require maintaining a $500.00 minimum balance to avoid a monthly fee of $5.00. Tongass FCU has an online banking product called ItsMyBiz designed specifically to fit your business' online banking needs. CERTIFICATE & IRA ACCOUNTS: All accounts will be transferring to a Tongass FCU account, effective August 1, 2023. There will be no changes to Certificate & IRA Accounts. CHECKS: For check users, the checks you currently have will continue to work after August 1st. Please reach out to us to get a box of complimentary updated checks after August 1st. CREDIT CARDS: Personal: All ALPS credit card accounts will be transferred to a Tongass FCU credit card by August 18, 2023. You will receive your new Tongass FCU credit card with detailed rate and account information in the mail. Please contact us if you have not received your credit card by August 15, 2023. Business: If you are a business credit card account holder, the same changes described above will apply to your new Tongass business credit card. SCORECARD Rewards: SCORECARD points will remain on the same system, and your current points will be transferred to your Tongass credit card account. DEBIT CARDS: Your ALPS FCU debit(s) will stop working at midnight on July 31st. You can expect your new Tongass FCU debit card(s) to arrive in July with directions to activate it on August 1st. If you have not received your new card by July 20th, please contact us. Detailed activation instructions will be available here shortly. OUTAGE: Your ALPS FCU debit card will work with limitations beginning at 4 pm on Friday, July 28th, through Monday, July 31st. The amount you can withdraw will be based on your account's available balance as of 4 pm today (and within the daily withdrawal limit - $1,000 for signature purchases; $500 for PIN purchases). On Tuesday, August 1st, you can activate your new Tongass FCU debit card and begin using it. At that time, your account will reflect your actual balance. If you anticipate any issues with these debit card limits, we recommend having cash on hand through the weekend. You can also call us now to discuss any anticipated problems. PIN Number: When you activate your new Tongass FCU debit card, you will be asked to setup your PIN number. You can choose a new PIN or use your existing PIN. DIGITAL WALLET: Digital wallet (apple pay, google pay, etc.) is expected to be activated in mid-August. At that time, you will be able to connect your Tongass FCU cards with those services. More information coming soon. LOANS: Your existing loan or mortgage contract will remain in effect until the loan is paid in full. Life & Disability Insurance on Loans: If you have credit life or disability insurance on your loan, you should have received a mailing describing the changes. Please contact the Tongass FCU Loan Department at (907) 225-9063 if you have any questions. PHONE / AUTOMATED TELLER: More information coming soon. SHARED BRANCHING: Tongass FCU participates in the same Co-Op Shared Branching network that ALPS participated in, so there will be no changes to your Shared Branching access. STATEMENTS: You will continue to receive statements in the same method that you receive your ALPS statements, either in the mail, email or online banking, starting with your August statement. All July statements will be mailed out first week of August 2023 - even if you are normally an e-statement subscriber. New statements going forward will also be accessible through online banking or by request. If after August 1st, you need to access prior check images or statements, please reach out to us. WIRE TRANSFERS: Inbound wires can be accepted the same way through the FED with the same instructions through 9/28/23. Outbound wires after 7/28 will have new wire instructions for members.
