WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Improve quality of life and patient satisfaction through safe and appropriate
pain management, while preventing costly and burdensome crises such as ED visits
and hospital readmissions.

CAPC’s pain management unit covers which patients are appropriate to consider
for opioid therapy, how to assess risk for substance use disorder, and how to
safely prescribe, monitor, and document opioid therapy in alignment with the
Federation of State Medical Boards prescribing guidelines.


CAPC DESIGNATION

Take all 14 courses in this unit to achieve CAPC Designation status in pain
management. Designation can be added to your performance file or resume to
indicate comprehensive training in pain management and safe opioid prescribing
for patients with serious illness.


WHAT YOU’LL EARN

CAPC members can earn the following free continuing education credits and MOC
credits:
