WAS LIFE REALLY BETTER IN THE OLD DAYS?

I love Europe!
I just got back from a walk around the old town in Warsaw.
It’s really beautiful.
Specifically, I love the old stuff.
Castle walls… cobblestone streets… courtyards… wells… towers….
Modern steel and glass are just not my cup of tea.
ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER CITY
Do you ever wake up and think, Where am I?
Sometimes it happens to me.
I am a travelling teacher.
This weekend I came to Warsaw to meet with my Vig Village members.
Tomorrow morning, I’m on the road again.
THE GOOD OLD DAYS
The old days may have been more appealing to the eyes…
But would you like to have lived back then?
I made a list of the top three things I would miss about modern times.
#3 — Freedom
Freedom of speech — In the Middle Ages, you could lose your life if you said the
wrong thing about the church or the king.
Freedom of movement — Travel was difficult and dangerous and sometimes
forbidden.
Economic freedom — Your job was your father’s job.

HI Ryan ! A large of us lived, in the communist system.
We had no freedom of speech, of movement in the world.
The economy,everyone knows how it was reporter and many,many others things.
From the 90s onwards we started to learn how it is in , ” DEMOCRACY ”

You’re very right and you already pointed the most Important things about modern
times. I would add the freedom to have different opinions, the equality of
chances between man and woman, young people and old people…,but also I feel that
we have to work a lot because all these things are not so well strengthened and
sometimes they may return like in the old days, as we saw.

Actually, in general, of course not. I don’t want to go back one day, because
now I can travel by plane and study at unuversity anywhere I want (I just have
to try my best) and I can meet new people just by joining the special program…..
But it is completely different in Iran. Earlier days at that time, it was a more
comfortable and lovely time that my father and many older people explained to us
about that time.

Hi!
No, I wouldn´t have wanted to live back then. Then I wouldn´t have known what
life is like now. I have eyes, ears, hands, feet and they all work. Of course I
am happy and satisfied that I can live right now. I can change myself, and
through it, maybe a little bit of the world. I would do anything to have peace.

nice to meet you, first the freedom of moviment, to follow love and the economic
freedom; when we are freedom of moviment, in the way, we can think, write and
speech, yes the job is father but the life is a walk

The coin has two views and depend on the place – the country, where we were
borned and we are growning.
In all over the world, there were and there are big differencies, inequalities
and difficulties among the people for the freedom and the pursuit of the
happiness
Fortunatelly I was borned to the country, where borned the DEMOCRACY.

With today’s PC rules, I wouldn’t be so sure about freedom of speech. Although
Eastern Europe is still an oasis in this aspect.

I would miss the view from the windows of my first home. It was an old,
two-story and very beautiful house by the sea. It was my grandparent‘s house.
From my room window I could see the sea and the lighthouse at the end of the
pier. Only that. So little, and what an abundance!
Today, from the window of my new home you can see the apartments of the
neighboring modern building. Their windows are so close that you can see the
glowing TVs in the rooms. So much and so meanly!
In fact, I won‘t miss anything, because the all beauty of the past is always
with me…it’s in my heart!

Hi everyone :-), I would miss the comfort of the everyday life. Can you imagine
a winter time in a stone walls without central heating and warm watter?!

The freedom of speech and the freedom of movement are very hard stuff for a
person . Additional lf l wouldn’t like to follow my fathers jod it’s very
stressful . I would miss the freedom to live free . I like travelling , express
my opinion , to change the kid l like
