BRC-20

BRC-20 tokens are fungible tokens that are minted and transferred on the Bitcoin
blockchain using the Ordinals protocol. They are similar to ERC-20 tokens on
Ethereum, but they are simpler and more constrained due to the limited
programmability of the Bitcoin blockchain.

BRC-721

BRC-721 tokens are unique digital assets that cannot be exchanged for other
tokens of equal value. They are similar to ERC-721 tokens on Ethereum. They are
used to represent a wide range of items, such as digital art, collectibles, and
virtual goods.

ORC-20

ORC-20 tokens are a new token standard for Bitcoin ordinals, created by OrcDAO
to enhance some of the key features of BRC-20. They are backward compatible with
BRC-20, but they improve adaptability, scalability, and security, and eliminate
the possibility of double spending.

Domain Names (.sats)

.sats in ordinals are Bitcoin-based domain names that use the Ordinals protocol
to create unique and memorable addresses for websites, wallets, and other
applications.

Recursive Inscriptions

Recursive inscriptions are a new feature of the Ordinals protocol that allow
inscriptions to reference data from other inscriptions. This can be used to
create more complex and dynamic inscriptions, such as websites, games, and
applications.

TAP

TAP is a cutting-edge multi-asset metaprotocol for Bitcoin Ordinals, enabling
more complex financial operations directly on the Bitcoin blockchain, powered by
and benefiting from the Ordinals ecosystem. It’s designed to be more flexible
and user-friendly than other token metaprotocols, enabling features like token
staking, swapping, and liquidity pools (to name a few) without the need for
secondary layers or complex mechanisms.

CBRC

CBRC is a new metaprotocol token standard on Bitcoin Ordinals that significantly
improves transaction efficiency & utilizes several new features of the ord
client. It is significantly cheaper than BRC-20 to use, easier to index, and
allows users to add their own inscription images to the deploy functions.

RUNES

Runes are fungible tokens issued directly on Bitcoin using the Runes protocol.
Ordinals creator Casey Rodarmor proposed the new protocol in September 2023,
pitching it as a better and simpler alternative to the experimental BRC-20
standard for fungible tokens.
