His playing showed that he had been trained as a kora player in the true jali
playing but also that he was trying to extend the scope of his musicality by
playing in a style that was way beyond his traditional roots. – fRoots

In May 2021 Jally Kebba Susso was awarded funding from the Arts Council
England’s Develop Your Creative Practice award towards writing and rehearsing in
Gambia, and developing production skills in UK.

This artist residency programme is running from 16 – 20 April 2018 in the
beautiful Snape Maltings venue in Suffolk. Jally is one of five participants

advertising, accessing funding, publishing, PR and legal.
