According to police sources, the probe is underway. The Puttenahalli police registered a case on March 29 after his manager, Manjunath alias Jack Manju, filed a complaint with them. According to the complaint, Sudeep had received the threat letter on March 10 at his residence. “In the letter, the miscreant has claimed to expose a few private videos of Sudeep,” said the complaint. On Wednesday, while addressing a press conference, Sudeep said he did receive a threat letter and that he knows the person who had sent it to him. “I also know it was by someone from the film industry and will give them a fitting reply. The person knows me and my residential address. I will respond to the threat letter,” he added. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) P Krishnakanth said the letter had come from an anonymous person and that the language used in it doesn’t seem proper, he added. “There was no sender’s address or name. It was written in Kannada and came through a post. We are checking from where it was posted,” another police officer added. During Wednesday’s press conference amid speculations whether the actor would contest or campaign for the BJP in the May 10 Karnataka Assembly elections, Sudeep said he would only campaign for Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and BJP candidates identified by him.
