Scattered showers, some heavy, with thunderstorms possible this afternoon and
evening.


GISBORNE AND HAWKE'S BAY

Rain spreading north to Gisborne city today, then turning to isolated showers
tomorrow, possibly heavy.


TARANAKI TO MANAWATU, INCLUDING TAIHAPE

Periods of rain, possibly heavy and thundery, turning to isolated showers
tomorrow.


HOROWHENUA TO WELLINGTON, ALSO WAIRARAPA, MARLBOROUGH AND NELSON

Periods of rain, heavy at times, then becoming mainly fine tomorrow morning.


BULLER AND WESTLAND

Scattered rain north of Greymouth clearing this evening or tonight, otherwise
fine.


CANTERBURY

Showers clearing this evening, then cloud clearing and becoming fine tomorrow
morning.


OTAGO, SOUTHLAND AND FIORDLAND

Isolated showers clearing to fine this afternoon. However, showers returning to
Fiordland and southern Southland tomorrow.


CHATHAM ISLANDS

Partly cloudy, with a few showers today.

THURSDAY

North Island: Mainly fine with isolated showers. Occasional rain in the Far
North. South Island: Fine, apart from a few coastal showers in Southland and
southern Fiordland.


FRIDAY

North Island: Occasional rain over the northern areas. Elsewhere, mainly fine
with increasing cloud. South Island: A few showers in Fiordland and Southland,
turning to rain later. Fine elsewhere, apart from some coastal cloud morning and
night.


SATURDAY

North Island: Occasional rain from Waikato to Gisborne northwards. Fine with
high cloud elsewhere. South Island: Fine in the west, but showers in the south
spreading elsewhere east of the divide.


CHATHAM ISLANDS

A few showers and southwesterlies.
