Recognition. Development. Justice. For ten years, these pillars guided global
efforts to address the systemic racism and discrimination faced by people of
African descent. Now, with the start of a second International Decade for
People of African Descent, the UN is continuing to tackle the persistent
injustices rooted in enslavement, colonialism, and structural racism. The
challenges remain stark. Limited opportunities. Deep inequality. Systemic
denial of basic rights. This Decade is a chance to focus global attention,
demand accountability, and drive real progress toward a world where people of
African descent are not just recognized but empowered to thrive.

Neighbors calling for help. Grandparents offering childcare. Volunteers
opening their homes. Ordinary people saving lives. Yet, for this, they are
punished: fined, arrested, and even jailed for acts of #solidarity.
Meanwhile, migrants and refugees—parents clutching their children, people
fleeing desperation— face horrors alone, attacked and abandoned on dangerous
journeys. Crimes against them go unanswered—impunity fuels more violence and
suffering. We must protect the act of helping, of standing up for someone’s
rights. Criminalizing them and those defending their rights betrays our
shared humanity. This comic shines a light on the power of solidarity and
the urgent need for justice and compassion in the face of suffering. Greek

Hate promises power, but it only delivers harm, for everyone. When online
platforms prioritize engagement over safety, they create fertile ground for
harmful ideologies to thrive. From misogynistic incel culture to racial and
ethnic hate, these movements exploit anger and fear. They tell us the problem
lies with those who look different, pray differently, or challenge rigid
gender roles. They disguise hatred as empowerment and normalize violence. But
their impact is unmistakable: division, harm, and deepening inequality for us
all. This #HumanRightsDay, we challenge hate - not to silence voices, but to
make room for everyone. The world is better when we lift each other up, not
tear each other down. Hate doesn’t build. It never has. It only destroys,
leaving nothing for anyone. #NoToHate: We stand against hate and demand
better: from states and politicians, from platforms, from communities, and
from ourselves. Report harmful content. Your voice can help stop the spread
of violence. Demand accountability. Politicians must not incite hatred.
Platforms must do more to prevent abuse and prioritize safety. Amplify
voices. Support women and voices and communities groups fighting for justice
and equality. #OurRightsOurFuture
