Barclays’ equity strategists led by Venu Krishna lifted both their year-end
target for the S&P 500 and their 2024 earnings estimate for the benchmark as the
US economy continues to defy headwinds from high rates.

Mr Krishna said the bank now forecasts that the S&P 500 will end the calendar
year at 5300, up from its previous 4800 target, and it expects earnings per
share to be $US235, up from $US233.
