In observance of Thanksgiving Day, the Miami-Dade County Office of Film &
Entertainment, as well as the City of Miami and the City of Miami Beach offices
will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29, 2024.

2025 AMERICAN BLACK FILM FESTIVAL

SHORT FILMS CATEGORY NOW OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS

The Shorts category is officially OPEN for submissions. Don’t miss your chance
to have your film considered for this year’s HBO Short Film Award at the Academy
Award-Qualifying American Black Film Festival. Submissions close Friday,
February 28, 2025. 

Miami 4 Social Change Youth Film Festival, January 17-18, 2025

SAVE THE DATE for a dynamic 2-days of a curated selection of stand-out youth
films, workshops, master classes, keynote sessions, and red carpet.

Showcasing the Talent of the Next Generation of Storytellers.

The festival enhances URGENT, Inc's mission to empower young creative minds to
transform their lives and communities. The transformational power of combining
individual skill-building, education and the arts provide youth the opportunity
to learn and demonstrate new competencies while positively engaging in their
community. Moreover, youth are motivated and encouraged to learn and gain the
information shared throughout the festival, raise awareness around community
issues, and then share it with abroad audience of their peers.

INTRODUCING THE LOUIES

A New Fund for Documentaries Sponsored by the Lynn & Louis Wolfson II Family
Foundation

The Miami Film Festival is proud to offer a new funding source to bring local
films to life: Introducing The Louies, which will provide six Miami-based
filmmakers with a share of $100,000 in funding to create documentaries about
South Florida.

As Miami filmmakers know, our city is rich in stories waiting to be told. The
Louies will ensure that more documentaries that capture our city are
created. Plus, each winning entry will be screened by the festival, ensuring a

Miami Film Festival Call For Entries

Submit your film to #MiamiFF (happening April 4-13, 2025) which showcases the
work of the world’s best emerging & established filmmakers, bringing 150+ films
to Miami. There are awards to be won, industry leaders to network with,
audiences to inspire, & memories to be made.
