Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. If
no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. If DU reports any
errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are
reported. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If
the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left
(sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the
Repair Disk button.

If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. In the

Intelligence involves processing sensory experiences into representations useful
for prediction. A data-driven approach is proposed to automatically identify
state variables for unknown systems from high-dimensional observational data.
The determination of state variables to describe physical systems is a
challenging task. Without any prior knowledge of the underlying physics, our
algorithm discovers the intrinsic dimension of the observed dynamics and
identifies candidate sets of state variables. We demonstrate the effectiveness
of this approach using video recordings of a variety of physical dynamical
systems, ranging from elastic double pendulums to fire flames. Here we propose a
principle for determining how many state variables an observed system is likely
to have, and what these variables might be. A longstanding question is whether
it is possible to identify state variables from only high-dimensional
observational data. Most data-driven methods for modelling physical phenomena
still rely on the assumption that the relevant state variables are already
known. However, despite the prevalence of computing power and artificial
intelligence, the process of identifying the hidden state variables themselves
has resisted automation.

These variables give a complete and non-redundant description of the relevant
system.

The push planning method effectively reduces the number of pushes required to
move unknown real objects to target positions.Īll physical laws are described as
mathematical relationships between state variables. The results show that the
prediction model purely trained using our simulation dataset is capable of
predicting real object motions accurately. The prediction model and planning
method were evaluated both in simulation and real experimental settings.
Secondly, we propose a computation efficient planning method that employs a
heuristic to reduce the possibility of making sliding contact between the pusher
and the object. In this work, firstly, we present a new large planar pushing
dataset that contains a wide range of simulated objects and a novel
representation for pushing primitives for the data-driven prediction model.
However, complex contact conditions and unknown physical properties of the
object cause difficulties in reasoning. To transfer this skill to novel objects,
reasoning the pushing effect on object motion is important for selecting proper
contact locations and pushing directions. Robot planar pushing is one of the
primitive elements of non-prehensile manipulation skills and has been widely
studied as an alternative solution to complex manipulation tasks. We also
illustrate how its generative nature enables solving other tasks such as outcome
prediction. Experiments demonstrate that our model can learn physical properties
of objects from video. We propose an unsupervised representation learning model,
which explicitly encodes basic physical laws into the structure and use them,
with automatically discovered observations from videos, as supervision.
Together, they form a dataset, named Physics 101, for studying object-centered
physical properties. We have collected 17,408 video clips containing 101 objects
of various materials and appearances (shapes, colors, and sizes). Many physical
properties like mass, density, and coefficient of restitution influence the
outcome of these scenarios, and our goal is to recover them automatically. We
consider various scenarios: objects sliding down an inclined surface and
colliding objects attached to a spring objects falling onto various surfaces,
etc.

Humans can learn basic physical laws when they are very young, which suggests
that such tasks may be important goals for computational vision systems. We
study the problem of learning physical properties of objects from unlabeled
videos.

   a ScrollTrigger.refresh() right after your. The pin essentially adds extra
   space and pushes things down, so the start/end positions from your batch()

   to do with the fact that timelines must wait 1 tick before doing their
   initial refresh because if they did it immediately upon creation, they'd be
   totally empty and there wouldn't be any duration (you haven't populated it
   with tweens yet), thus when you do your batch() it refreshes BEFORE your
   timeline-based one which has a pin. I fully understand I can not just add
   ScrollTrigger.Batch but I do not know how to do it otherwise. I am not
   getting the error on the codepen but i do get an error TypeError:

normally licensed to individual users, which has meant that owners of M1 and M2
Macs faced both technical and licensing problems if they wanted to run Windows
on their Macs. Windows On ARM, aka WoA, is Microsoft’s version of Windows is
designed to run on ARM chips. The good news is that an ARM version of Windows
does exist. Even if Boot Camp was an option for modern Macs, because the
M-series processors are not compatible with the with the x86 version of Windows,
they would only be able to run an ARM version of Windows.

These new Macs that are based on the M1 chip – or any of its successors
including the M1 Pro and Max, and the M2 – don’t offer Boot Camp. Rather than
the x86 architecture used by Intel processors, the Apple’s M1 processors use a
different architecture, known as ARM (named after Arm Ltd, the British company
that originally designed the chips). However, in 2020 Apple announced that it
would be moving away from using Intel processors to its own Apple Silicon
processors and this transition began with the arrival of the ARM-based M1 Chip
in November 2020. There are millions of Intel-based Macs still in use all around
the world that can still use either Boot Camp or virtualization to run Windows.
The only disadvantage is that you need a pretty fast Mac with plenty of memory
and storage to run Windows as a VM, since it means that your Mac is effectively
running two operating systems at the same time. This is a great solution as it
allows you to run the Windows apps that you need right alongside your main Mac
apps as well. So you can create a VM on your Mac and then install Windows – or
another operating systems, such as Linux – on the VM. Virtualization programs
such as Parallels Desktop and VMWare Fusion run on the macOS, but allow you to
create a Virtual Machine – or VM – that mimics the hardware of a Windows PC. So
if you have purchased a Mac in the past couple or years, and it doesn’t have an
Intel processor, Boot Camp won’t even be an option. There’s another issue with
Boot Camp that is even more pressing though: it isn’t a feature of M-series
Macs. There are third-party solutions that address both of these issues. Another
issue, specifically with Windows 11 on Macs, is that Windows 11 requires the
presence of a TPM (trusted platform module) to run and Macs don’t have these.
Many people find it inconvenient to constantly switch back and forth between the
macOS and Windows. The problem with Boot Camp is that it forces users to make a
choice – either you run the macOS or you run Windows. Users could simply dual
boot a Mac, starting it up running either the macOS or Windows. This is a
utility that allows you to partition your Mac’s hard drive or SSD – effectively
splitting it in two – leaving the main macOS on one partition, and then allowing
you to install Windows on the new partition. This was a benefit to Apple because
it took away one of the biggest concerns of Windows users when considering a
move to the Mac – it meant they could bring Windows and their Windows software
with them.Īnd, in true Apple style, it came up with an elegant solution, known
as Boot Camp. When Apple moved to Intel processors back in 2006-2007, it also
brought the ability to run Windows to the Mac because the macOS and Windows OS
suddenly spoke the same language (the x86 instruction set used in Intel
processors).

jumping and the seagulls are circling. You can also hover your mouse over the
water to see the message “School of Fish”. When you enter a location with a
school of fish a large notification pops up on your screen telling you about it.
A school of fish is never located next to the shore, which is the reason you
need to have a boat. You are most likely to find them at sea, but they can also
be found in specific lakes, which are next to a sport fishing stand. These are
indicated by jumping fish and a flock of seagulls in the air above. Sport
fishing is only possible where you find schools of fish. You can then spawn the
boat as you do with your mounts when you are at a lake or at the sea. You just
need to get 10 lumber and find a carpentry workbench to make one. In that case,
you will need to make your own rowboat which is easy. However, it seems that
these quests go away after you hit a certain level. One example is at Sandrock
in Dewstone Plains. There are a few such quests and they are usually located
close to some story quest point. The easiest way to get a boat is to complete a
quest that gives you a rowboat. You will need 60 worms and 40 ground grain to
make a single chum bucket. You can make a Chum Bucket by using the cooking
tools. You need to have the fish in a feeding frenzy to be able to do sport
fishing. For freshwater fish, you need to use Chum which you can buy from a
general merchant and for saltwater fishing you need to use a Chum Bucket. These
items are used on a school of fish to send them into a feeding frenzy. There is
only one type of lure as the only thing it does is allow you to sport fish for 2
hours. You only need 15 iron ingots to make one at a handicraft kiln. Getting a
lure for sport fishing is easy enough. Fishing Proficiency Requirement 150.000.

the seeds at a slower rate, but you also get a few worms with them. Later, when
you have your farming proficiency at 15.000 you will have the option of making
seed bundles. You get about 25 worms from each compost if it is fresh, but only
about 15 if the worm compost is starting to decompose, so don’t place down a
compost unless you can tend to it when it is fresh. Unfortunately, you can only
harvest worms once from each worm compost. You need to plant the worm compost
like a seed or sapling and after three hours the worms will be ready. The two
you have available at the beginning are buying them from the auction house or
growing your own in a Worm Compost, which you can get from a Vocation Badge
Merchant for 80 vocation badges.

   Nightdive’s version of the 1994 classic holds up. nightdive initially
   announced system shock 2: enhanced edition back in 2019, and while the studio
   is yet to confirm the exact enhancements it'll feature on release, we do know
   it'll include. Even looking back a few years, the remake was looking
   impressive. System Shock has been through several demos and dates up to now,
   so some extra help from Prime Matter to get it across the finish line sounds
   like a good thing. Nightdive also says that System Shock 2: Enhanced
   Edition is coming along, and the goal is still to launch it in the same
   window as the System Shock remake. That includes PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox
   One, and Xbox Series X|S.īackers are still on track to receive their rewards
   and get access to a beta in early 2022. Originally intended to be a
   standalone title, its story was changed during production into a sequel to

For this to happen, however, leaders must first manage their own emotions as
tempers are rising.

If that length of a break isn’t possible, then simply pushing back from the
table, taking a deep breath and pausing for six seconds before you speak is
often enough to get your emotions, and your tongue, under control.Īction step:
Take a timeout to prevent escalating conflict and losing control of your
temper.įor leaders, the ability to effectively manage conflict is nonnegotiable.
When things are getting heated, taking a 30-minute timeout often prevents
unnecessary meltdowns. We've used this approach in our home for so long that my
daughters have actually said to me, “Dad, your prefrontal cortex is not
engaged." This provides a not-so-subtle reminder that my emotions were driving
our conversation rather than rational and logical thinking. These "emotional
timeouts” can allow the logical part of our brain, the prefrontal cortex, to
drive the conversation and prevent cyclical arguments that often spiral out of
control. When tempers are rising, it often helps to take a breath, push pause
and step back for a few minutes to allow emotions to calm. The same approach
also can be effective when it comes to preventing emotional meltdowns. Most
parents have utilized the timeout as a tool for teaching children how to manage
their behavior. This same process can work regardless of the trigger and allow
you to take control of the threatening situation.Īction step: Intentionally
develop a plan for how you can deal with the trigger. This allowed me time to
methodically and logically work through my positions on issues without getting
pulled into the negativity of our relationship. By developing this plan of
action, I was able to avoid ongoing conflict and prevent a cyclical escalation
of emotion.Ī second strategy I used was thoroughly preparing my thoughts prior
to the meeting. Because I attended regular meetings with this person, I would
physically write the words “Do not speak" on my notepad prior to the meeting.

It seemed that every word, action or idea he introduced was a direct attack on
me personally and professionally. I once worked with a person who had the unique
gift of being a perpetual trigger in my life.

Once you’ve identified your triggers, develop a plan for how you can manage
them.
