Please Donate Today Hunger is no longer limited to the homeless or unemployed. Hunger is also prevalent among the working poor, the elderly and those experiencing temporary financial crisis. That means our approaches to addressing hunger within the community must also change. As an example, The Food Basket regularly hosts Free Farmer’s Markets within the community. We would love for you to refer a friend in need or volunteer! Check our Facebook Page for upcoming events! OUR MISSION The Food Basket was founded in 2002 to meet the growing demand for supplemental food among families in Southern Brazoria County. Our mission is to put God’s Word - “Feed My Sheep” - into action, and to bolster those with food insecurity. OUR VISION Our vision is for The Food Basket to be a community which works together to provide physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally for all clients.
