Identification of Persons Act (Act No. 11 of 1986), Revised Edition 2012.

system. This is a service that enables the national ID applicant (citizen or
resident alien) to fill out the national ID application form electronically from
anywhere.



After filling out the form, the applicant will be required to print it and
submit it along with other documents to the NIDA office (district) near him to
complete the registration of biometric marks.

certificate
Copy of birth certificate or oath of one parent
If the applicant’s citizenship is heirs, verify with a copy of the birth
certificate or a copy of the National ID of one parent.



If the applicant’s citizenship is registered, verify with a copy of the
applicant’s registered citizenship (Dossier number).




STEPS TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT FOR THE NIDA ONLINE APPLICATION:
HTTPS://EONLINE.NIDA.GO.TZ/

The following is how to open an account for the online application of the
Tanzania E-National ID.

 * Visit the official website at https://eonline.nida.go.tz/.
 * Then click on the Create Account button.
 * After the page is open, you need information, which is as follows:
   * Email Address
   * Password
   * Confirm Password
   * Select citizenship type.
     * Citizen
     * Legal Resident
     * Refugee
   * Enter Captcha text
 * Finally, click the Create Account button.

Preview and Print

 1. Obtain an introduction letter (Kivukoni) D. Submit the application for the
    NIDA ID Card (3). expand_more expand_less.
 2. Verify citizenship. D.
 3. Submit the application and undergo biometric fingerprinting. D.
 4. Obtain a NIDA ID card.


HOW DO YOU GET NAMBA YA NIDA THROUGH SMS?

The National Identity Authority (NIDA) introduced a new procedure to get NAMBA
YA NIDA (NIN) for free through short message service (SMS) when sending your
information to 15096 to get this service. The PDF file is below.

and issuing identity cards to qualified non-citizens in the Dar es Salaam area
since September 2016, and the program has now been formally expanded to all
eligible non-citizens throughout the nation starting on March 6, 2017.



In this respect, NIDA would like to remind all legal residents who have been in
Tanzania for more than six months as defined by their residence permits as of
the date of this notification to participate in the Registration and
Identification of Persons exercise as required by law.
