Who are Ofqual?


Ofqual stands for The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation and
is a non-ministerial government department that regulates qualifications, exams
and tests in England.

The introduction of these offical Ofqual qualifications has brought about an
interesting change for the career path of a locksmith. Students are no longer
limited to the trainee route or the short 1-5-days courses, they now have the
opportunity to study locksmithing at a much deeper level than ever before.

As this qualification is the only regulated locksmith qualification in the UK, a
National Standard has now been created among the locksmith profession. This
means that by completing the qualification, it will enable you to remain
complaint with industry standards, for example, the Health and Safety at Work
Act 1974.  

Can I get help with the fee?


Because these new diploma's are Ofqual regulated many students are eligible for
educational grants, funding and finance to pay towards their course.

Even if you are not eligible for funding or grants towards your course, you can
still apply for a private financial loan to spread the cost of the course and/or
equipment at a low interest rate, depending on your credit rating.

What is different about the foundation courses?


Our foundation locksmith training courses are specially designed for housing
associations and similar businesses who want you give their maintenance staff a
basic knowledge of the locksmith industry. We also run a foundation auto
locksmith training course which is popular with garages, vehicle rental
companies and main dealers

Our foundation locksmith training courses are shorter and only teach basic
locksmith skills.
