WELCOME!



Welcome to The Augmented Coach. I’ve created this blog to help professional
coaches navigate new technologies especially AI, large language models and tools
such as ChatGPT.

I’d love you to feel empowered and able to improve your confidence and skills as
a coach so you can serve your clients more powerfully and have a greater impact
on the world.



If you’re new to me and my work, I’m a EMCC Senior Practitioner running a
successful coaching and mentoring business specialising in helping women create
work lives in which they can thrive.









You could call me a career, leadership, executive, money and positive psychology
coach but it doesn’t really roll off the tongue! I combine all of these types of
coaching in service of my clients who often can’t see how brilliant they are and
could be.



I created this blog as part of my contribution to the development of the
coaching profession as part of my journey to EMCC Master Coach.



Like all professional coaches, I am passionate about this powerful, life and
world changing tool we call coaching and mentoring. But as a community we face
huge opportunities, risks and challenges. We must be the best we can possibly be
to respond to these.


WHY THE AUGMENTED COACH?



I believe technology is a tool for us to use to be better, do more and have a
greater impact. It is not a replacement or an either/or choice.

The Augmented Coach uses technology, especially artificial intelligence and
machine learning, to augment themselves and their work.

The Augmented Coach is a place to explore how to augment and improve ourselves
and our work using technology for the greater good of our clients, ourselves and
the world around us.



If we are not already connected, LinkedIn is the place to find me and have a
conversation about any of these topics.



I hope this blog will serve you as you learn and develop as a professional coach
and mentor. It separate from my coaching business and my intention is for it to
be a non commercial space to learn and grow as a coach.



To keep the information free to you, I may add a space for you to contribute or
engage with sponsors. These will always be competently transparently
communicated and only ever with products or services that meet my high
standards.

READ THIS FIRST



In a rapidly changing and emerging field, it is important for us to set our own
rules of engagement.

Before using AI tools in your work, I recommend you do the following first:



 * Be an active member of a professional coaching body (ICF, EMCC or AoC)
 * Embed ethical principles into your practice or business. I use the EMCC
   Ethical Principles
 * Have regular supervision with a human supervisor
 * Have explicit permission from your coaching clients to use anonymised
   information from the coaching sessions for your learning and development
 * Never share or upload or use any confidential, private or identifiable
   information with a AI tool or service
 * Take full ownership and responsibility for the tools you use in your work
 * Keep up to date with the rules, regulations, risks and threats that can
   emerge rapidly.
