THE BCDI FOUNDATION

At the heart of BCDI is our incredible community. Our number one priority is to
provide optimal outcomes for our patients and their families throughout their
entire health journey. As “The Blood Experts” we place a major emphasis on our
patients living longer, healthier lives. That translates to the highest level of
comprehensive care, education, advocacy, access to healthcare, and research as
possible.

The BCDI Foundation was created in 2024 with the goal of enhancing support and
resources available for BCDI to improve the lives of individuals affected by
bleeding, clotting or other blood disorders. The mission of the BCDI Foundation
is to raise crucial funds and awareness for the services BCDI supplies outside
of our clinic walls, including scholarship programs, continuing education for
BCDI patients and staff members, support of BCDI research, emergency financial
assistance, and many other initiatives that impact the lives of those we serve.
The BCDI Foundation aims to create a sense of community among patients, families
and advocates, providing emotional support and shared experiences.

 * Why support the Bleeding & Clotting Disorders Institute Foundation?  The goal
of the BCDI Foundation is to provide crucial funds to further the mission of
BCDI to provide integrated, family-oriented care, treatment and education for
individuals with bleeding, blood clotting and other blood
disorders.  Contributions to the BCDI Foundation helps us support our
patients in ways we are unable to with funds derived from our pharmacy
program.  These activities include things such as The Green Family
Scholarship Fund, support of research, continuing education for our patients
and staff members, emergency financial assistance, and other initiatives to
improve the lives of community members impacted by bleeding and blood
clotting disorders throughout the state of Illinois.
 * Why should you consider BCDI over other organizations?  As a federally
funded, not-for-profit hemophilia treatment center of excellence, BCDI’s
entire mission is to improve the lives of patients with bleeding and blood
clotting disorders.  We have a long and recognized track record of
responsible financial stewardship and proven optimal outcomes for our
patients.  A dollar spent supporting the BCDI Foundation is a dollar that
directly impacts the lives of those not only those we serve in Illinois, but
throughout the Midwest and the entire United States.

THE BCDI FOUNDATION LOGO

The BCDI Foundation logo brings new life to the “Blood Huggers” logo that is
synonymous with the Bleeding & Clotting Disorders Institute.

With the creation of the BCDI Foundation, we are excited to tell the story of
the brand new BCDI Foundation logo. The BCDI Foundation logo takes inspiration
from the classic BCDI “Blood Huggers” logo, but provides a new meaning.

An important part of any logo is storytelling, and our original BCDI logo tells
a compelling story: BCDI, its patients, and their families coming together to
create a community united by blood disorders.

We want to expand upon that story with this new logo for the BCDI Foundation.

The original logo represents the care and community that patients receive when
they seek treatment at BCDI. In contrast, the characters in the new logo are
depicted in a dynamic pose that conveys activity, celebration and strength. This
design symbolizes the positive impact a donation to the BCDI Foundation will
have and how significantly our patients will benefit from it.

The blood drops are a key aspect present in both logos, representing the blood
disorders we treat at BCDI. In our new BCDI Foundation logo, the blood drop
remains an important element of each figure, but it is no longer central to
them. Thanks to the care and support these figures receive from BCDI and their
community, they are no longer defined by their blood disorder. They can go out
into the world, live full lives, and advocate for themselves and their
community!

This logo retains the iconic and recognizable BCDI colors, figures and font,
while also representing the goals of BCDI’s fundraising efforts through the BCDI
Foundation.

PATIENT TESTIMONIALS

Every contribution to the BCDI Foundation helps empower our vision for what is
possible in the future for our patients. BCDI highly values the thoughts and
opinions of our patients regarding the care received at our clinics. That’s why
all BCDI patients are prompted to complete anonymous surveys after a visit with
our team. Below is a sampling of anonymous reviews that the BCDI team received
during visits in the past year.
