HEALTH HOUR AWARENESS TALK

As well as finding information about our breast awareness talks on this page,
you can also book an information stand for an event by filling in the below
form. For more information, please contact the team on 0161 291 4400 or email
info@preventbreastcancer.org.uk

Suitable for companies, community groups, schools and universities, our Health
Hour is a great way to promote the health of your employees, community or
students and to demonstrate their value to your organisation.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and the biggest cause of death
for women between 35 – 49. To ensure we protect ourselves, our mothers, our
sisters, our daughters, and many others – it is extremely important to be aware
and talk about the risks, signs, and symptoms of breast cancer.

Thousands have benefited from hearing our crucial messages at our breast
awareness talks about breast cancer prevention. We offer in-person talks for
groups of 10+, virtual presentations, or a hybrid option where we combine the
two.

To book your talk, please complete the form below. On receiving your completed
form, a member of our team will be in touch to confirm details. Please note that
we may need two weeks from the date of your request to arrange so please get in
touch as soon as possible.

We are now fully booked on the 8th, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 18th October. Book
your talk in now.

WHO ARE THE BREAST AWARENESS TALKS FOR?

We welcome opportunities to deliver our breast awareness talks to people of all
ages and in a variety of settings; workplaces, community groups, schools,
universities and other groups, tailoring content to the audience and time slot
available.

WHAT WILL THE BREAST AWARENESS TALK OUTLINE?

Talks can be tailored to your group but will usually take a look at the
background of our breast cancer research into prediction, prevention and
protection. We will explain more about the risk factors linked to breast cancer,
provide practical ways to understand how to reduce risk, raise awareness of
signs and symptoms, and answer any questions. The breast awareness talks usually
takes between 30-60 minutes including questions, but we can adapt this to the
length of time you have available.

WHAT IS COVERED IN THE TALK?

 * How to reduce your risk of developing the disease
 * Signs and symptoms to look out for
 * Causes of breast cancer
 * How to check yourself
 * Why we’re focused on prevention of breast cancer
 * Our latest breast cancer research findings

HOW MUCH DOES THE TALK COST?

For community groups, schools and colleges, we deliver these health talks free
of charge, but for any commercial organisations, we ask for a minimum donation
of £250 as this helps to cover our own cost. Some companies prefer to fundraise
for us to generate the donation, and we’re more than happy to help with ideas
and support.

We understand that £250 may not be feasible for every organisation, so to ensure
our talks are accessible to a wide range of organisations, we encourage you to
complete the form below and mention this to the member of our team that contacts
you so we can discuss available options.

HOW TO BOOK YOUR BREAST AWARENESS TALK

To book a talk, please complete the form below. Alternatively, if you would like
more information before booking, please contact the team on 0161 291 4400 or
email info@preventbreastcancer.org.uk
