UNDERSTANDING HOW CANCER CELLS MIGRATE PAVES THE WAY FOR TARGETED THERAPIES
A team of researchers from the Mechanobiology Institute at NUS and the
Department of Biological Sciences, NUS Faculty of Science, together with
external collaborators, worked together to gain a deeper appreciation for the
cellular activities involved in causing cancer cells to change and move through
blood vessels.

NUS RESEARCHERS INVENT NOVEL INGESTIBLE CAPSULE X-RAY DOSIMETER FOR REAL-TIME
RADIOTHERAPY MONITORING
Gastric cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. A new invention by
NUS researchers could help improve the treatment of this cancer by enhancing the
precision of radiotherapy, which is commonly used in combination with treatment
options such as surgery, chemotherapy or immunotherapy.

To make a difference to persons with disabilities (PwDs) who could be struggling
to live independently, Dr James Kah and his Biomedical Engineering (BME)
students apply engineering solutions to challenges faced by PwDs as part of the

Traditional measures of merit have served their purpose. Enabling everyone to
flourish, even as artificial intelligence threatens to outshine us all, requires
that we diversify those yardsticks while also being clear that they should not
