Lisa Brown has died after a short-lived illness. Martha Byrne, who played her
daughter in As The World Turns, has paid tribute to the late actress. She told
Soap Opera Digest: “She was my friend since I was 15 years old.

"Lisa was my mentor, mother, sister and so much more for my life. As a scene
partner, she was always present and full of creativity.

“I will miss our daily calls about our families, our careers, and everything in
between. For the fans, she loved and respected you all more than you will ever
know."

On Twitter, she added: "My heart is broken."



Lisa starred as Nola Reardon on Guiding Light from 1980 to 1985.

She went on to play Iva Snyder in As The World Turns for nine years.

The actress was also known for her theatre work, particularly in 42nd Street.

Tributes have flooded in for the late film star this evening.

Danielle Lipsky commented: "Sending my deepest condolences to Lisa Brown’s
family!

"May she Rest In Peace now! Ms Brown was a great soap opera actress!"

Lisa Faye Miller wrote: "Lisa Brown’s Nola on Guiding Light single-handedly
hooked me on soaps for life.

"She was simply sublime. Such a loss."

Dinah Anderson added: "Know one made me cry or laugh like Lisa Brown."

In her personal life, Lisa was married to actor Tom Nielsen, who once played her
lover Floyd Parker on Guiding Light.



Following their split, she went on to tie the knot with Brian Neary.

Her son James Anthony Nielsen also played her son in the soap opera.
