WELCOME TO THE OFFICE OF THE AUDITOR GENERAL

Auditor General

The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) is Montserrat’s Supreme Audit
Institution or national audit office. It is authorised through the Audit Act
2001 to examine the receipt of public sector revenues and to scrutinize public
spending on behalf of the Legislative Council. The OAG is headed by the Auditor
General, Florence A. Lee (Miss).

We audit the accounts of central government ministries and non-ministerial
departments, statutory agencies (except those whose governing legislation
provides for the hiring of a private sector auditor), and entities receiving or
seeking substantial sums from the public purse. We also conduct
value-for-money/performance evaluations and report to the Legislative Council on
the economy, efficiency and effectiveness with which public funds were utilised.

This website has been created to enable our stakeholders’ easier access to our
audit products. We hope it will increase awareness of the role of the Montserrat
Audit Office and provide a greater insight into the work we do
