POST-ROCK - INSTRUMENTAL - AMBIENT



ABOUT COSMICUS SONUS

Cosmicus Sonus is a solo project act based in the Philippines that creates
Ambient, Instrumental, and Post-Rock music. 

Led by a one-man band, Cosmicus Sonus is a sonic journey that blends ethereal
soundscapes with emotive melodies. Inspired by the beauty of the cosmos and the
mysteries of the universe, each song takes listeners on a journey through the
vast expanse of space. 

With influences ranging from Post-Rock staples such as Sigur Rós and Explosions
in the Sky, to metal artists such as Bullet for My Valentine and Gojira, as well
as Filipino bands namely Typecast and Slapshock, Cosmicus Sonus' music is a
blend of dreamy atmospheres, sweeping crescendos, and intricate instrumental
arrangements. Each composition is a sonic painting that evokes a range of
emotions, from contemplation to euphoria.

"To the Stars and Beyond"

Thanks to my mom, I became fascinated with science at an early age, specifically
space and history. Before the internet and video games, I grew up alongside
books, encyclopedias, and dictionaries (the Garfield dictionary made words a lot
more interesting to learn).

The inspiration for the main riff of the first track of the EP came to me when I
was watching Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" video.

Humanity's insignificance when compared to the vastness of space is just
overwhelming.



PRIMARIUM

My first full-length album.

Mixing Roman mythology and the universe, I further explored the range of
emotions that I could evoke through this album.

"Entropy" is the first track where I learned how to add drums to my music. With
this newfound skill, I decided that the album's destination would be the
"Singularity", the center of a black hole.

But before we reach no man's land, "The Atlas Protocol" is inspired by the video
game "No Man's Sky". An RPG that lets you traverse endless numbers of galaxies.
A game that makes you think about our existence; are we just a simulation that
is governed by an unknown being that transcends our understanding? A being that
is not bound by our notion of reality?
