Mufasa: The Lion King is an upcoming photorealistic CGI-animated film produced
by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a prequel and sequel to the 2019 adaptation of
the 1994 film The Lion King. It is scheduled to be released in theaters on
December 20, 2024.

Synopsis
A prequel about the rise of one of the greatest kings of the Pride Lands, goes
back to the African savanna where Rafiki tells Kiara—daughter of Simba and
Nala—the story of her grandfather while Timon and Pumbaa add color commentary.
