We share stories about the importance of historical archives and oral history, environmental reporting through an Indigenous perspective, Indigeneity’s data dilemma and more. Support IRE CELEBRATING LIFE OF LEGEND MEYER Friends and family will celebrate the life of IRE legend Phil Meyer on Dec. 2 at Chapel Hill, N.C. Service will be at Chapel of the Cross, starting at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception. Meyer died Nov. 4 at home in Carrboro, N.C. Meyer, 93, was professor emeritus and former Knight Chair of Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. IRE’s Phil Meyer Award, established in 2005, recognizes the best journalism using the social science research methods pioneered by Meyer. Contributions may be made in his honor to UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media, to IRE or Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. Put "Phil Meyer" in the tribute or memo line.
