YOUR CIBC COSTCO MASTERCARD QUESTIONS ANSWERED When will these changes happen? Your existing account and balance transferred to CIBC on March 4, 2022. Your CIBC credit card will arrive by mail before August 31, 2022, as long as your account is in Good Standing. Until then, you can continue to use your existing Costco Mastercard. When will I start earning cash back with CIBC? Starting on March 4, 2022, you began earning even more cash back. You now have access to new insurance coverage that comes with your card, flexible installment payment options and more. When will I receive my gift certificate from CIBC? You'll receive your cash back gift certificate from CIBC every January, beginning in 2023, provided you have an account in Good Standing and an active Costco membership as of December 31 of that previous year12. Your 2022 cash back gift certificate, to be issued in January 2023, will include rewards earned between January 1 and March 3, 2022, on the previous Costco Mastercard program and between March 4 and December 31, 2022, on the CIBC Costco Mastercard program.13 Can I still use my cash back coupons I earned in previous years? You can still use any cash back coupons earned in previous years that haven't already expired or been redeemed at a Canadian Costco warehouse14. Where can I see my cash back that I’ve already earned from January 1, 2022, to March 3, 2022, on my previous Costco Mastercard? When your account was transferred to CIBC, the cash back earned from January 1, 2022 to March 3, 2022, was also transferred. Will these continue uninterrupted? When your card transferred to CIBC, your credit card details didn't change. Your existing Costco Mastercard 16-digit credit card number, expiration date, CVC and PIN have been transferred to CIBC. That way, you can use your card without any interruptions to your transactions, and updates to your merchant pre-authorized payments will not be required. Purchases charged to your Account by an Authorized User earn Cash Back Rewards that will be added to the Cash Back Rewards Account. Cash Back Rewards will be provided in the form of a Cash Back Gift Certificate issued in Canadian dollars to an eligible Primary Cardholder once per calendar year in January for the cash back earned in the prior calendar year. The Cash Back Gift Certificate can only be redeemed for purchases at any Canadian Costco Wholesale warehouse location. Authorized Users on the Account are not issued and cannot redeem Cash Back Gift Certificates. 3 Interest rates will change from time to time on at least 30 days prior notice to the primary cardholder. Capitalized terms used have the meanings set out in the CIBC Cardholder Agreement. 4 Cash advances do not earn cash back. Interest accrues from the date advances are taken. 5 CIBC Pace It Installment Plans allow eligible cardholders to convert eligible card transaction(s) to monthly installment payments (including interest) over a fixed period of time. When you create an Installment Plan you will have the ability to choose the payment term (in months) with a corresponding annual interest rate. Once you accept the Installment Plan Terms and Conditions and the installment plan is created, you can cancel it at any time but you cannot change it. CIBC Pace It Installment Plans are only available: (a) on Accounts in Good Standing; and (b) for certain eligible Accounts and eligible Transactions. For complete Terms and Conditions, visit CIBC.com/paceit. 6 CIBC foreign exchange rates apply. Only primary cardholders can use their eligible credit card account to pay for the CIBC Global Money Transfer™ service. 7 CIBC does not charge interest on a CIBC Global Money Transfer appearing on your statement if we receive full payment of the Amount Due (or for a CIBC Global Money Transfer that has been converted to an Installment Plan during that statement period, if we receive payment in full of the Balance) by the payment due date for that statement. Capitalized terms in this footnote have the meanings set out in the CIBC Cardholder Agreement. 8 CIBC Payment Protector™ Insurance for Credit Cards is optional creditor’s group insurance underwritten by Canadian Premier Life Insurance Company (Canadian Premier) and administered by Canadian Premier and CIBC (for more information about Canadian Premier, you may call their customer service office at 1-800-893-2862 Opens your phone app. (English) or 1-800-939-0169 Opens your phone app. (French) or visit canadianpremier.ca Opens in a new window..
