MGIU combines the extensive knowledge and experience of a team of physicians, specialty trained nurses & technicians. We offer a range of medical investigations to treat GI diseases. We are leaders in upper gastrointestinal physiology testing and our services are used throughout Victoria. About us PROCEDURES & CONDITIONS WE SPECIALISE IN Inflammatory Bowel Disease Education, treatment and management for patients with IBD. High Resolution Oesophageal Manometry Analysing the pressure your oesophagus creates when you swallow. 24hr pH / Impedance Monitoring Study An analysis of the acid and non-acid reflux events over a 24hr period. Breath Testing Breath sample analysis to determine sugar malabsorption / intolerance and the presence of bacterial overgrowth in the small bowel. Capsule Endoscopy "PillCam" A small camera which, when swallowed, records images of its journey through the diegestive tract. Bravo pH Capsule An analysis of the acid and non-acid reflux events over a 48-96 hour period, using a wireless capsule. Iron Infusion Intravenous iron infusion (Ferinject) to increase iron stores quickly. Venesection for Haemochromatosis Involves the removal of blood from the body for a genetic condition known as Haemochromatosis.
