Due to ongoing growth, our Vital Records and Statistics Team (RVR) seeks a technically minded Support Engineer to join our Melbourne team. About the Role Working closely with our Developers and our off-shore Technical support team, you will play a pivotal role in providing effective applications support to Axiell’s clients. As this is a heavily programming based role (75% programming / 25% technical support), knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Java, Perl, Python, and database engines is essential. * Investigate and action all Level 1-3 support requests relating to Axiell products and services. * Write, code, test, analyse and maintain Axiell’s applications in line with user requirements. * Identify root problems, correct coding errors, troubleshoot, present solutions, implement changes, de-bug software and accurately document code. * Manage customer expectations and document case progress in Jira ticket management software. * Work with Development team to make improvements based on user feedback/reoccurring issues. Axiell seeks a candidate who is competently and culturally aligned with our core business values. * Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline. * 1-2 years’ prior work experience in an IT related environment preferred. * Programming knowledge essential—C++, Java, Perl, Python and database engines. * Solution focussed individual, with a creative approach to problem-solving. * Eager to learn, attention to detail, and committed to continuous improvement. * Strong customer centric focus, with excellent communication skills and an optimistic personality. * Knowledge of web technologies like React, Eclipse, Jetty an advantage.
