Sheriff Scott Cicirello entered the “family business” going to the Central
Police Services Police Academy in Buffalo, NY, graduating in 1994 as a
Wellsville Police Officer.   

The first half of his career was spent as a local police officer with the
Wellsville, Cuba, Alfred, Salamanca and Andover Police Departments. Sheriff
Cicirello served both Alfred (2003-2006) and Salamanca (2006-2007) as the Chief
of Police. In 2006, he graduated from session #225 of the Federal Bureau of
Investigation National Academy and the FBI Executive Leadership School in 2005.
During this time, Sheriff Cicirello was a charter member of the Allegany County
SWAT Team (ALERT) for 5 years, serving as the point man on the entry team. He
also received specialized training in accident reconstruction, police
supervision, field training, operational planning, evidence collection, case
management, advanced interview/interrogation, statement analysis among many
other topics.
