Malagasy Inspector Selected for Elite FBI National Academy Program in the U.S.
By U.S. Embassy Antananarivo
2 MINUTE READ

January 12, 2024

Before departing for the United States, Ambassador Pierangelo personally
congratulated Inspector Raharinoely and wished her success in this prestigious
program.

We are thrilled to announce the selection of Police Inspector Sophie
Ranjaharimalala Raharinoely for the prestigious 𝗙𝗕𝗜 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹
𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 in Quantico, the United States’ premier law
enforcement training facility! Inspector Raharinoely will join 260 other law
enforcement officers, from the U.S. and around the world, for mentally and
physically challenging instruction ranging from training in leadership and
behavioral science to firearms instruction and a grueling obstacle course.  She
will learn about best practices to improve the administration of justice in
police departments and agencies in Madagascar while raising law enforcement
standards, knowledge, and global cooperation.

She was nominated by her superiors in recognition of her exceptional leadership
qualities, which she exhibited in the 2022 𝗬𝗔𝗟𝗜 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮
𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 program.  There, she gained valuable
experience in police-community outreach, civilian oversight of the police
department, and promoting women’s leadership in law enforcement at the
Philadelphia Police Department.

Before departing for the United States, Ambassador Pierangelo personally
congratulated Inspector Raharinoely and wished her success in this prestigious
program.
