THE JENSEN RIFLE COMPANY LTD., A DIVISION OF BALTIMAR LTD., WAS LAUNCHED INTO
THE MARKETPLACE IN MAY 2004 FOR THE SAME REASONS THAT HARRIS HOLLAND, THE
FOUNDER OF HOLLAND & HOLLAND LTD OF LONDON, INTRODUCED H. HOLLAND IN 1835:

FOR WANT OF BETTER QUALITY!

THE FOUNDER AND OWNER OF BALTIMAR LTD., STIG ANDERS JENSEN, HAS BEEN SHOOTING
SINCE HIS EARLY CHILDHOOD BOTH SHOTGUN AND RIFLE.

DURING A VOCATIONAL STAY IN AMERICA, HE LEARNED ABOUT RELOADING METALLIC
CARTRIDGES FOR HANDGUNS AND RIFLES. THUS WITH A BALLAST IN RELOADING HE KNEW
THAT WITH HANDLOADING ONE WERE ABLE TO IMPROVE GROUPS TO SUB MOA ON ALMOST ANY
GIVEN RIFLE, UNLESS THE BARREL/CHAMBER WAS MADE TO EXCEEDE THE TOLERANCES FOR
THE CALIBRE.

TIME-HONOROURED WAYS ARE BEST

M98

Based on the original Mauser ’98 system with its hand-cut barrel, Jensen Rifle’s
M98 is more than an exclusive rifle. It is a masterpiece.

The M98 uses the original Mauser ’98 action. A modern classic, the Mauser ’98’s
controlled feed system has never been bettered. Even if you turn the rifle
upside down, the round will not fall out of the magazine. And, because you have
to eject the cartridge before you can feed in the next round, you cannot jam or
double feed a ’98 action.

Many modern ‘push-feed’ actions are fully acceptable under normal and less
stressful hunting conditions. But most professional big game hunters insist on a
Mauser ’98-type action. Because when you only have one chance to make the shot,
the Mauser ’98 will never let you down.

Jensen Rifles take the original Mauser action and they completely overhaul,
blue-print and accurise it. Finally, the action is ground and polished to a high
gloss finish until it is case-hardened and blued. The M98 is available to order
in almost all standard and safari calibres.

From €12.800 in STD Kaliber

and from €18,800 in Magnum

M99

The M99 is based on the legendary Winchester rifle with an M-70 pre ’64 lock
featuring a controlled feed. The rifle has a Monte Carlo stock and a more modern
look than the M98. The cut and precision of the barrel, however, are a match for
the quality of the more elaborate M98.

The barrel and lock are mounted in a beautiful piece of top-quality Turkish
walnut which is hand checkered. The M99 comes in a range of standard calibres:
30-06, 6.5x55, .270 win, 7x57, 8x57, 9,3x62.

From €4,800

STRAIGHT AND TRUE

THE BARREL IS THE HEART OF A RIFLE. FIT A POOR BARREL TO A GOOD ACTION AND YOU
WILL GET POOR MOA GROUPS. BUT FIT A POOR ACTION TO A GOOD BARREL AND YOU CAN
STILL ACHIEVE GOOD GROUPS. OF COURSE, IF YOU FIT A BAD BARREL TO A BAD ACTION,
YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. THAT IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO FIT A CUT RIFLED BARREL TO
AN EXCELLENT ACTION IF YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE THE BEST SUB MOA GROUPS.

THE BASIC PROCESS OF DRILLING THE BORE IS THE SAME FOR ALL THREE METHODS – WITH
ONE EXCEPTION. THE HAMMER-FORGED BARREL BEGINS AS A BLANK WHICH IS LESS THAN
HALF THE FINISHED BARREL LENGTH, SO THE BARREL STILL BEARS EVIDENCE OF MATERIAL
STRESS WHEN IT HEATS UP DURING A SHOOT.

WE START OFF WITH A CHROME MOLY STEEL BLANK 75CM IN LENGTH AND 32MM IN DIAMETER,
WHICH IS TURNED TO SIZE AND STRESS RELIEVED. THE BORE IS DRILLED WITH A GUN
DRILL UNTIL IT IS A LITTLE LESS THAN THE TARGET DIAMETER OF THE FINAL BORE, AND
THEN IT IS REAMED TO SIZE. THE BLANK IS THEN HAND LEAD LAPPED FOR UNIFORM
CUTTER-BOX TRAVEL BEFORE BEING FITTED TO OUR OWN MANUALLY OPERATED RIFLING
MACHINE SO WE CAN BEGIN THE CUT RIFLING PROCESS. THE CUTTER BOX WITH A SINGLE
CUTTING KNIFE IS PASSED THROUGH THE BORE, RETURNED AND INDEXED FOR THE NEXT
GROOVE AND SO ON UNTIL WE ACHIEVE THE CORRECT GROOVE DEPTH. THE IDEA IS TO MAKE
SURE THE BORE DIAMETER AND GROOVE DEPTH MEET THE INDUSTRY’S MINIMUM
SPECIFICATION FOR EACH CALIBRE.

THE BARREL IS ALMOST READY. BUT FIRST IT NEEDS TO BE HAND LEAD LAPPED ONCE AGAIN
IN THREE STEPS, RESULTING IN A SMOOTH, CONICAL FINISH. THE BARREL IS THEN
PROFILED TO THE REQUIRED CONTOUR, THREADED, CHAMBERED, CUT TO LENGTH AND
CROWNED. FINALLY, IT IS POLISHED TO A HIGH GLOSS FINISH, AND ENGRAVED WITH THE
MAKER’S NAME AND SERIAL NUMBER BEFORE WE TEST ITS ACCURACY AND FEEL BY SHOOTING
IT WITH FACTORY AMMUNITION. WHEN WE ARE SATISFIED, WE BLUE THE BARREL TO ORDER,
AND IT IS READY FOR ITS NEW OWNER.

BESPOKE RIFLES SINCE 2004

THE JENSEN CONCEPT

ACCURACY, ACCURACY, ACCURACY

We match the action to your barrel or calibre of choice in the white. The
barrelled action is then glass bedded into the stock for maximum stability. A
fully adjustable match-grade trigger mechanism is fitted to the action and
adjusted to the optimal weight and play. Once we have test shot the rifle and
are satisfied with its accuracy, the barrel and action can be blued and fitted
into the stock. The rifle is now ready for its new owner.

We guarantee that our sub-30 calibre rifles shoot three-shot half-inch MOA
groups, and our larger calibre rifles will shoot one-inch MOA groups at 100
metres with factory ammunition.

And we can do this because every single gun that leaves our factory has been
through strict quality assurance – and has passed with distinction.

THE ORIGINAL MAUSER 98 SYSTEM

"A PROVEN CONCEPT"

We use the original Mauser ’98 action – a modern classic with a controlled feed
system that has never been bettered. Even if you turn the rifle upside-down, the
round will remain in the magazine. Because you have to eject the cartridge
before you can feed in the next round, you cannot jam or double feed a ’98
action.

Finally, the action is ground and polished to a
high-gloss finish until it is case-hardened and blued.

MEET THE TURKISH BEATY

LOOKS THAT LAST

We manufacture every stock from Turkish walnut blanks. Each blank is copy-routed
from a classic rifle stock at 95 percent of full size, inletted, hand checkered
to 20 lines per inch, oil finished and hand polished for a superior finish.

The standard stock grade is 3-4. Higher grades are available at additional cost.

THE BARREL MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

GOD IS IN THE DETAIL

There are four ways of making a rifled barrel: button rifling, cold hammering,
broaching and the time-honoured way of cutting the rifling. Cutting the rifling
is the most stress-free way of creating an accurate barrel and, if done
correctly, MOA groups will be consistently small. It is also the slowest and
most labour-intensive method – and thus the most expensive barrel to produce.

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT

YES, IT TAKES TIME

Modern life flies by at a cracking pace. As we check our Twitter feeds, check
out the latest guru’s promise of instant success or order the latest must-have
gadget, it can be all too easy to lose sight of something quite fundamental:
some of the best things in life take time. This can be as true of our business
dealings as it is of our relationships. And, with hand on heart, it is certainly
true of a Jensen Rifle.
