ENGAGEMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) ON CONTRACTUAL BASIS The School Games Federation of India (SGFI) is a national level multi sports organization recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The organization has 44 units covering the entire country, including all states, union territories, and 08 organizations/societies. SGFI is a member of the International School Sport Federation, Asian School Sport Federation and Asian School Football Federation. The main objective of SGFI is to promote fitness among school students by encouraging sports and physical activities. It also provides a platform for participation in national and international school sports competitions. The School Games Federation of India (SGFI) organizes Under-14, 17, and 19 age group (Under11 only in Skating) competitions for boys and girls in various sports across the country under the National School Games Competition. We are planning to engage a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for SGFI. It will be a contractual appointment initially for 03 years and extendable upto 05 years. The essential requirements and job profile for the CEO are as mentioned below: A. Educational Qualification The candidate must possess a Graduation/Post-graduation /MBA degree in any discipline from a recognized University/ Institution. B. Experience Essential: Minimum 15 years of overall experience in Management or Leadership roles in Public/ Private Sector Companies, Sports Organizations, Consultancy Organizations, International/ Multinational Organization, State Sports/Education Departments/ Authorities in India. He/she must be proficient in writing and speaking at least in Hindi and English languages. Desirable: Minimum 10 years' of experience in Sports Administration, in management roles (Deputy Director/ Deputy Secretary level and above) in Government Sector Education/Sports Department/ Authorities (State or Central). C. Roles and responsibilities * To develop and implement a strategic plan for the federation, outlining the vision, mission, and objectives for SGFI. Ensure alignment with the organization's overall goals. * To provide strong leadership to the organization, inspiring and guiding staff, volunteers and stakeholders towards the achievement of its goals. * To foster positive relationships with schools, games associations, government bodies, sponsors and other key stakeholders to promote participation in School Games and secure necessary resources. * To oversee the budgeting process and financial management of the SGFI, ensuring that funds are allocated efficiently and transparently to support the organization’s programs and initiatives. * To take the lead in planning, organizing. and executing School Games and related events. This includes venue selection, scheduling, officiating and logistics management * To ensure that all School Games are conducted according to established rules and regulations, maintaining fair play and sportsmanship. * To implement programs to develop the skills and abilities of young players, including coaching, training camps and talent identification initiatives. * To develop marketing strategies to raise awareness of games and attract participants, sponsors, and spectators. Use various media channels and social platforms to promote the events. * To ensure that the organization operates in compliance with relevant laws, regulations and ethical standards. Uphold the SGFI's governance structure and policies. * To identify and mitigate risks associated with SGFI, including issues related to safety, security and legal liabilities. * To Seek and secure funding from government grants corporate sponsors and fund raising activities to support the organization's activities and growth. * To regularly assess the performance and impact of the school games and related programs. Prepare and present reports to the board of directors and other stakeholders. * To develop contingency plans for handling unexpected challenges or crises that may arise during school games or in the broader sports landscape. * To lead the staff administrator and supervise the personnel deemed fit, based on the roles and nature of work. Guide the team for all activities undertaken /delegated to it. D. Terms and Conditions The terms and conditions of the contract shall be as under - Age limit: An upper age limit of 50 years at the time of appointment. Tenure: The contractual engagement will be initially for a period of 03 years, extendable up to 05 years, depending on the requirement or till the age of 55 years whichever is earlier. Remuneration: INR 01 Lakh (Consolidated) per month Tax Deduction at Source: The Income Tax or any other tax liable to be deducted, as per the prevailing rules, will be deducted at source before effecting the payment, for which the SGFI will issue TDS / Service Tax Certificates, as applicable. TA/DA: * Entitlement to travel by air within the country in economy class and in business class while travelling abroad exceeding four hours of travel time. In case of rail travel, he/she would be entitled to travel in Executive or AC Tier-II class. * Reimbursement for hotel accommodation/ guest house up to INR 500 day, reimbursement of AC taxi charges as per actual expenditure commensurate with official engagements for travel within the city and reimbursement of food bills not exceeding INR 1200/day. * Extension: Performance of the CEO would be continuously reviewed and extension will be considered on the basis of performance review report. * Leave: The person will be entitled for 30 days of leave in a calendar year on a pro-rata basis. Therefore, he/she shall not draw any remuneration in case of his/her absence for a period beyond 30 days in a year. Also, un-availed leave in a calendar year will lapse and will not be carried forward to the next calendar year. E. Confidentiality * The CEO, SGFI may not, except with the previous sanction of the federation, in the bonafide discharge of his/her duties, publish a book or a compilation of articles or participate in radio broadcast or contribute an article in his/her name or anonymously or pseudonymously in the name of any other person, if such book, article, broadcast, uses any information that he/she may gather during the course of employment, without the prior approval of the President, SGFI. * During employment with the SGFI, the CEO would be subject to the provisions of the Indian Official Secret Act, 1923 and will not divulge any information gathered by him/her during the period of employment to anyone who is not authorized to know. * The CEO, engaged by the SGFI shall in no case represent or give opinion or advice to other person/organizations in any matter which is averse to the interest of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). * School Games Federation of India (SGFI) reserves the right to terminate the contract, by giving a 30-day notice. F.
