MANAGED FUNDS
CASH/CREDIT FUNDS
A cash fund is a managed investment scheme that aims to provide competitive
returns investing in low-risk, high liquidity cash or cash equivalents such as
short-term government bonds or bank bills. The underlying component of a credit
fund is that the fund is taking a view on exposure to certain counterparties’
credit. Schemes can be registered or unregistered.
EQUITY FUNDS
Invest primarily in equities or companies which can be listed or unlisted.
Equity funds can have a focus on sector, geography or market capitalisation or
can be diversified. Managed funds, also known as unit trusts, allow investors to
pool their money with others, thus enabling them to invest in assets and markets
that may be difficult to access individually.

FUNDS OF FUNDS
A fund of funds, also referred to as a multi-manager investment, deploys capital
across a portfolio of underlying funds rather than investing directly into
assets such as equities, bonds, infrastructure or real estate. More simply, a
fund of funds is any fund that pools capital and utilises the expertise of two
or more sub managers to invest that capital.

PROPERTY FUNDS
A managed fund that invests in real estate assets that may otherwise be too
expensive for investors to invest in directly. The investment strategy is
typically yield, capital growth, development or a combination of these.
Investments can be made in a single property or a portfolio of properties and
can be commercial, retail industrial or residential real estate.

INCOME FUNDS
An income fund is a managed investment scheme that seeks to generate an income
stream by investing into assets that pay dividends or make interest payments,
rather than generate capital appreciation. The funds can be invested into a

estate investment Trusts (REITs).
INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDS
An infrastructure fund is an investment scheme that invests primarily in
facilities and utilities that provide essential services to communities. These
characteristics generally result in less volatile earnings. Assets include
airports, toll roads, seaports, railways, hospitals, education facilities, water
supply, gas and electricity & telecommunications facilities.
PRIVATE EQUITY FUNDS
Private equity funds are managed investment schemes that normally invest in
private, non-publicly traded companies and businesses. Typically, the fund will
be structured as a unit trust or limited partnership that raises capital from
institutional and sophisticated investors and sometimes retail investors, which
is used to buy equity interests in companies.
SOCIAL IMPACT FUNDS
Managed investment schemes that make investments that create positive and
measurable social or environmental change alongside appropriate financial
returns. Investments can be made into companies, organisations or funds, whether
they be not-for-profit or for-profit. Investments in this space can include
property, infrastructure, corporations or private equity.
