SISWAMaiL (siswa.um.edu.my) is the NEW student webmail powered by Google Apps.
It is an official email application system provided to all students of
University of Malaya.

Your use of SISWAMaiL web site application and services (referred to
collectively as the “Services” in this document) is subject to the terms and
conditions between you and Google Apps.

  NEWS : GOOGLE MAIL AND MICROSOFT ONLINE LIMITED SERVICES

  Dear users,

  There are few news about Google mail and Microsoft Online Services
blocked/banned in certain countries

  - Google email service suspended by certain countries < Click Here >
  - Microsoft 365 International availability < Click Here >

  Both findings can be searched using the popular search engine (google, yahoo,
bing etc).

  This also means that our student from US embargoed countries may not be able
to access SISWAMAIL from their home country.


  To recover your SiswaMaiL password, please begin with these steps :.   

  1.  Email to helpdesk@um.edu.my with subject Password Recovery Assistance
Needed.
  2.  Please provide your full name , student id and a snapshot of your student
card.
  3.  Thank you.

 2. Configuration via POP:

For Users who faces error when using mail clients, please follow the steps
below:
• Change your clients password in siswamail • Click here to unlock your account
• Enter your full siswamail address in the username (ie.
username@siswa.um.edu.my) • Try login in your mail client

CHANGES IN UMWIFI SETTING :   Please be informed that University of Malaya
(UM) Wireless System in the main campus, Kuala Lumpur had changed it'sService
Set Identifier (SSID) broadcast to all wireless clients.

The changes are effective immediately today 3rd of September 2010 as detailed
below:

UM_WIFI_roam had changed to UM-WiFi-Staff (fstaff access)
WIFI_08_STUD had changed to UM-WiFi-Student (student access)

As a reminder, your UMMail or SISWAMaiL credential may be used to access the
UM Wireless System.

You may call our Helpdesk at +603 7967 4001. Alternatively, you could visit our
PTM Counters for direct technical assistance.

DISCLAIMER :   Please be advised that PERDANAMAIL ADMINISTRATORS are NOT the
admin for SISWA MaiL.   Universiti Malaya SHALL NOT BE liable for any loss or
damage caused by the usage of Google Mail from within the SISWA MaiL Portal.
