There were many CIOs who made a move in their career in October 2023. Today, we
will focus on 10 CIOs that accepted new positions.


NEW YORK STATE ANNOUNCES DRU RAI AS NEW CIO



Gov. Kathy Hochul recently announced the appointment of Dru Rai as New York
State Chief Information Officer and Director of the New York State Office of
Information Technology Services. Rai will lead the state’s ongoing digital
transformation and will work with state agencies to create more seamless digital
interactions with state government.


FORMER FANNIE MAE CIO JOINS T. ROWE PRICE AS CTO



Ramon Richards joined T.Rowe Price as the company’s new chief technology
officer. In that role, he leads technology business solutions, technology
services and enterprise architecture functions.


ASPIDA NAMES ALEX SEIDITA AS NEW CIO



Aspida, a provider of retirement and reinsurance solutions, has named Alex
Seidita as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), taking over from Joe Lurie,
who has served as the firm’s CIO since its inception and is to retire at the end
of 2023.


MUNSON HEALTHCARE APPOINTS NEW CIO



Munson Healthcare president and CEO Ed Ness recently announced the appointment
of Michael Saad as chief information officer for the health system. Saad joins
the health system from the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville,
Tennessee, where he served as senior vice president and chief information
officer.


REVENUE GROUP HIRES CHRIS TAYLOR AS NEW CIO

Revenue Group welcomes Chris Taylor as its new Chief Information Officer. Chris
spent the last eighteen years as the Director of Operations and Technology
followed by the Controller and CIO at National Enterprise Systems. Starting in
IT, he progressed to become a dual professional in Financial Services and
Information Technology, taking a special interest in debt collections.


RUE21 NAMES SCOTT SAEGER AS CIO



Scott joins rue21 from GNC, with previous roles at 1-800-Flowers,
Hawlett-Packard, and ExxonMobil.


DENNY’S HIRES NEW CHIEF DIGITAL AND TECHNOLOGY OFFICER



Denny’s has hired Pankaj Patra to the newly created position of chief digital
and technology officer. Patra will join the 1,591-unit diner chain from Chili’s
parent Brinker International, where he worked for about 15 years, most recently
as SVP and CIO.


HHS IG NAMES MARIA PERSAUD-THOMPSON AS NEW CIO



Maria Persaud-Thompson is starting a new job as chief information officer at the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Inspector
General (OIG).


MODERE APPOINTS GUY THEIR AS NEW CIO



Modere has tapped Guy Thier as its new chief information officer, effective Oct.
30. Thier will be responsible for enhancing Modere’s e-commerce and digital
transaction platforms. The direct-to-consumer brand offers a range of wellness
products, including household cleaning items, skincare, and hair care products.


GENERAL DYNAMICS, BATH IRON WORKS NAMES JULIE BERRY AS NEW CIO



General Dynamics, Bath Iron Works, a full-service shipyard specializing in the
design, building, and support of complex surface combatants for the U.S. Navy,
selected Julie Berry as Chief Information Officer. In this capacity, Berry will
be in charge of cybersecurity and the IT organization and serve on its senior
leadership team as a Vice President.
