Focus sentinel UPGRADE TO DB2 VERSION 11.1 Last Updated: 2023-03-17 Upgrading your Db2 database product to a new release might require upgrading your Db2 environment components. Your Db2 environment has several components such as Db2 servers, Db2 clients, database applications, routines, tools and, scripts. Upgrading these components requires an understanding of Db2 database products and their upgrade concepts. The upgrade process includes the following tasks that you must perform to run your Db2 environment successfully on a new release: * Planning your Db2 environment upgrade to a new release includes creating an upgrade strategy and an upgrade plan for each of the component in your Db2 environment. For more information, see Plan your Db2 environment upgrade * Upgrading your existing instances and databases so that they run successfully in the new release. For more information, see Upgrade Db2 servers. * Upgrading your client instances to keep the configuration of your existing clients. For more information, see Upgrade Db2 clients. * Upgrading your database applications and routines that includes testing and modifying them to support changes in the new release. For more information, see Upgrade database applications, routines, tools, and scripts. The upgrade task for each of the component in your Db2 environment includes the following information: : * Upgrade prerequisites provide details about upgrade support, restrictions, and best practices that you must understand before upgrade. * Pre-upgrade tasks describe all the preparation tasks that you must perform before upgrade. * Upgrade tasks provide a step-by-step procedure to upgrade the Db2 environment components. * Post-upgrade tasks describe all the tasks that you must perform after upgrade. In the upgrade tasks, the term pre-Db2 version 11.1 releases refers to Db2 version 9.7, Db2version 10.1, or Db2 version 10.5. While IBM values the use of inclusive language, terms that are outside of IBM's direct influence, for the sake of maintaining user understanding, are sometimes required. As other industry leaders join IBM in embracing the use of inclusive language, IBM will continue to update the documentation to reflect those changes. © Copyright IBM Corporation 2014 * Contact IBM * Privacy * Terms of use * Accessibility * Cookie Preferences Choose a language Choose a language Arabic / عربيةBulgarian / БългарскиCatalan / CatalàCzech / ČeštinaDanish / DanskGerman / DeutschGreek / ΕλληνικάEnglishSpanish / EspañolFinnish / SuomiFrench / FrançaisCroatian / HrvatskiHungarian / MagyarItalian / ItalienHebrew / עבריתJapanese / 日本語Korean / 한국어Kazakh / ҚазақшаDutch / NederlandsNorwegian / NorskPolish / polskiPortuguese/Brazil / Português/BrasilPortuguese/Portugal / Português/PortugalRomanian / RomânăRussian / РусскийSlovak / SlovenčinaSlovenian / slovenščinaSerbian / srpskiSwedish / SvenskaThai / ภาษาไทยTurkish / TürkçeVietnamese / ViệtChinese Simplified / 简体中文Chinese Traditional / 繁體中文 * IBM Documentation Help IBM web domains ibm.com, ibm.dev, ibm.org, ibm-zcouncil.com, insights-on-business.com, jazz.net, merge.com, micromedex.com, mobilebusinessinsights.com, promontory.com, proveit.com, ptech.org, resource.com, s81c.com, securityintelligence.com, skillsbuild.org, softlayer.com, storagecommunity.org, strongloop.com, teacheradvisor.org, think-exchange.com, thoughtsoncloud.com, trusteer.com, truven.com, truvenhealth.com, alphaevents.webcasts.com, betaevents.webcasts.com, ibm-cloud.github.io, ibmbigdatahub.com, bluemix.net, mybluemix.net, ibm.net, ibmcloud.com, redhat.com, galasa.dev, blueworkslive.com, swiss-quantum.ch, altoromutual.com, blueworkslive.cn, blueworkslive.com, cloudant.com, ibm.ie, ibm.fr, ibm.com.br, ibm.co, ibm.ca, silverpop.com, community.watsonanalytics.com, eclinicalos.com, datapower.com, ibmmarketingcloud.com, thinkblogdach.com, truqua.com, my-invenio.com, skills.yourlearning.ibm.com, bluewolf.com, asperasoft.com, instana.com, taos.com, envizi.com, carbondesignsystem.com About cookies on this site Our websites require some cookies to function properly (required).
