YorPower assembles, supplies and delivers a generator somewhere in the world
nearly 3 times a day. We provide backup power, typically by supporting the mains
with a generator to businesses and end-users so that, in the event of a
power-cut, our customer’s business can operate without interruption. We are
celebrated our 30th year last year and we take great pride in the trust people
bestow in us to deliver the right generator for their particular need.
We are a specialist British engineering business. A generator manufactured and
delivered by us, gives our customers complete peace of mind, through warranty,
customer advice, aftercare and support, and, when things don’t go to plan, we
are available to help. The very same can be said about the gas-powered
generators we produce and supply, a wholly more complex installation. A
generator made and supplied by YorPower can be found in operation at, hospitals,
data centres, agriculture, utility companies, businesses, production
specialists, schools and many other sectors that just cannot afford to be
without back up power. YorPower was formed in 1989 and is now one of the most
recognised and successful power generation brands in the UK, reaching as far as
Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
In addition to our generator prowess, we also provide spare parts for all major
brands of industrial engine, generator and control systems. With extensive
stocks we are able to despatch worldwide within 24 hours of order. Our core
generator product, is manufactured in house by our engineers and contains a
Perkins engine, a Leroy Somer alternator, DSE control panel and an ABB Breaker.
We do incorporate other engine brands into our generator range for specific
markets and applications. For the UK and some export sectors we supply branded
gensets where the application demands and dictates it.
The current board and management team have been in place for over ten years. The
company has teams of professionals specialising in assembly, exporting,
projects, design and implementation, all supported by a sales administration
team focussed on customer service. Based in Sherburn in Elmet between York and
Leeds, the business is ideally positioned to distribute equipment speedily
throughout the UK and has direct access to major shipping ports, including Hull
and Liverpool for exporting.

and in accordance with regulations. Electrical installations, fuel emissions,
noise breakout near domestic dwellings all have to be considered and cannot
easily be delivered without expert help, particularly if there are multiple
generators to install.

As well as providing Bulk fuel tanks to supply generators with fuel via fuel
transfer systems, YorPower is also a leading independent manufacturer,
assembling generators from 10kVA to 3000kVA at its base near Leeds. In addition,
we design and manufacture bespoke sound proof enclosures for projects that
require ultra-low noise breakout. We also offer a full installation service for
Electrical and Mechanical works, acting as principal contractor for larger

WHAT WE DO
A generator can be used for standby, prime or base load applications. We
manufacture and supply generators in open frame and enclosed soundproof options
from 10kVA right the way up to 4mVA in a single generator configuration, at both
400v (LV) and 11kV (MV). We also provide gas powered generators.

We offer a full design and installation service as well as maintenance and
warranty support globally. YorPower supplies prime, standby, emergency, base
load and rental gensets that all meet current legislative requirements in terms
of emissions standards and electrical regulations.
We provide fuel systems from the simple 1000 litre bulk tank to the large
industrial scale 100,000 litre industrial bulk fuel tanks with integrated fuel
polishing. Our in-house switchgear assembly team build ATS panels, LV
distribution, synchronising equipment and control panels up to 3200amps.
For export customers, as well as an extensive range of ‘in house’ built
generators, we have a full range of water pumps that can be shipped with gensets
and packaged into containers to maximise the available space. We offer projects
capability with full turn-key solutions including design, scope, manufacture,
installation and aftercare.
