PASSWORDS

Gallaudet students and employees receive an account with a username and
password. This password gives you access to Gallaudet's email and other services
and systems. If your account has already enrolled in the password reset system,
you can reset your own password. If you have NOT previously enrolled in the
Password Reset Service, you may do so by clicking on the Enroll button. If you
experience any issues while trying to enroll, please contact the IT Service Desk
by submitting a ticket and we will follow up with you.

In addition, remember these important tips to ensure your password is secured:

 * Passwords must NOT be shared with anyone. Gallaudet University will never ask
   you for your password.
 * Passwords must be changed at least every 180 days.
 * Beware of phishing emails that attempt to lure you to malicious websites and
   log in using your Gallaudet credentials.
 * Respond quickly when you get a notification that your password has been
   changed and you have not changed it. Report it to the IT Service Desk
   immediately.
   


FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD?

Once you have enrolled in the Password Reset System, you will be able to reset
your password by verifying your personal email address or by using an
authenticator. If you don't have access to a personal device or your personal
email, contact the IT Service Desk.

If you have not enrolled in the password reset system AND you are currently
unable to sign in to your account, please submit a ticket or contact us through
Virtual Chat.


FUNCTIONAL ACCOUNT?

Functional accounts are used by departments for business and customer support
purposes. They are also used by individuals who have administrative access to
university systems. Passwords must be reset annually by the identified point of
contact for the account. An email will be sent to the point of contact's email
address with a link to allow you to reset the password. If you are not the point
of contact on record then you should have that person request the reset or
contact the IT Service Desk to request that the point of contact name be
updated.

Use this request form to receive a link to reset your functional account
password.
