CURRENT EMPLOYMENT STATISTICS - CES (NATIONAL)

The Current Employment Statistics (CES) program produces detailed industry
estimates of nonfarm employment, hours, and earnings of workers on payrolls. CES
National Estimates produces data for the nation, and CES State and Metro Area
produces estimates for all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the
Virgin Islands, and about 450 metropolitan areas and divisions.

Each month, CES surveys approximately 119,000 businesses and government
agencies, representing approximately 629,000 individual worksites.

Note: Significant changes are calculated at a 90-percent confidence level. The
variance for total nonfarm is an approximation because government and rail
transportation are not based on a probability sample

Hover over chart to view data.
The 90-percent confidence interval represents the symmetric range of values
around the estimate for which there is a 90-percent probability
that the actual change is contained within that range of values. If the change
is statistically significant, the blue bar does not cross the zero line.

assistance—has grown considerably. Traditionally, much of this care has been
provided in institutional settings, such as nursing homes. However, many people
prefer to age in place, both because they wish to remain in their homes and
because it may be less expensive. read more »
