Then repeat that again until you get hired. Until you get hired for something, spend the rest of your time honing your craft and you'll keep your sanity. If the only thing you do is apply to stuff, you're probably going to get a little edgy. I admit I had to look up "polyvalent" and I imagine nobody is looking for that word and prolly has to look it up too but it's kinda cool that you know how to use a thesaurus and I learned a new word today yay you cannot translate to english I'm gonna lay that on you right now and I don't know how many sql and java developers call themselves "computer specialists." 2 Upvotes Reply Mouna E Community Member In response to Jennifer M 11-15-2017 12:45 AM * Mark as New * Bookmark * Subscribe * Mute * * Subscribe to RSS Feed * * Permalink * Print * * Notify Moderator Nov 15, 2017 12:45:28 AM by Mouna E I'm not here to talk about what Java developpers call themselves. 0 Upvotes Reply Aldelm John F Community Member In response to Mouna E 07-23-2019 03:02 AM * Mark as New * Bookmark * Subscribe * Mute * * Subscribe to RSS Feed * * Permalink * Print * * Notify Moderator Jul 23, 2019 03:02:07 AM by Aldelm John F Yea this seems like a dead end. Not getting jobs for a long period of time sometimes happens. It might be a dry spell for you and it definitely, 100% will pass. While you are waiting you can do something about your portfolio. It is untidy at the moment. You can put the job samples of the completed works to the back of your portfolio. See the image. If you click those arrows you can change the order of portfolio items. After changing them don't forget to press "save" at the end of a very long list. This way you can have the photo editing pieces on the first page. You might also consider making categories. Please check my portfolio and you'll see what I mean. From your profile text, delete your name and thanks. Clients see the first couple of lines of your profile when you apply to a job, don't waste that space with those. If I were you I'd also increase my hourly rate. You can double it an see how it goes. Try going for higher budget jobs with bids on budget, not lower prices. If the budget is 50 don't bid 30. I'm pretty sure you can get those jobs if you don't under bid. 0 Upvotes Reply Mouna E Community Member 11-15-2017 12:46 AM * Mark as New * Bookmark * Subscribe * Mute * * Subscribe to RSS Feed * * Permalink * Print * * Notify Moderator Nov 15, 2017 12:46:52 AM by Mouna E Thank you all for your answers Discussion closed 0 Upvotes Reply Pandora H Community Member In response to Mouna E 11-15-2017 08:28 AM * Mark as New * Bookmark * Subscribe * Mute * * Subscribe to RSS Feed * * Permalink * Print * * Notify Moderator Nov 15, 2017 08:28:01 AM by Pandora H Well I was all poised to offer the OP some tips about her profile. You are setting yourself up as perfect scam bait. Jill-of-all-trades, mistress-of-none, does not work in the freelancing world. You have two below-average scores for one of the most saturated areas on Upwork. You should hide these, until you can score at least 30% on these two tests. Since your B&M working life appears to be as IT manager, you should draw from this experience and offer relevant skills on Upwork. 3 Upvotes Reply Stephanie L Community Member 11-15-2017 04:36 PM * Mark as New * Bookmark * Subscribe * Mute * * Subscribe to RSS Feed * * Permalink * Print * * Notify Moderator Nov 15, 2017 04:36:36 PM by Stephanie L Here's an unpopular option. You need to hire someone to write your profile for you. You're a coder. That's obvious. The people who will hire you aren't coders. They’re business owners looking for your expertise. English is quite clearly your second language. Those business owners are going to write you off as inexperienced and unprofessional if you can’t speak to them. Your profile tells me you can't. I’m not saying you need to speak English fluently but if you’re aiming for jobs in a primarily English market, you at least need to be able to fake it. Hire someone else to write your profile for you if you’re going to seek work in markets where English is the primary language.Otherwise, the only offers you're going to get are the rock bottom kind. 1 Upvote Reply Shahidul Islam B Community Member 04-11-2019 09:21 AM * Mark as New * Bookmark * Subscribe * Mute * * Subscribe to RSS Feed * * Permalink * Print * * Notify Moderator Apr 11, 2019 09:21:45 AM by Shahidul Islam B why i cant getting any job ? how to i can bidding to get a job . 0 Upvotes Reply Iftikhar H Community Member 05-19-2021 07:00 AM * Mark as New * Bookmark * Subscribe * Mute * * Subscribe to RSS Feed * * Permalink * Print * * Notify Moderator May 19, 2021 07:00:03 AM by Iftikhar H Hi, The same situation here too, I am unable to get any job, I am continuously sending proposals to clients but no luck. and the other side I have an account on Fiverr where I am now Level2 with more than 100 reviews, I register both accounts same time. 0 Upvotes Reply Post Reply Latest Articles My First Day at Upwork: A Remarkable Journey Begins The Future of Freelancing: 12 Experts Share Their Predictions Career CloseUp: My Enchanting Life As A Freelancer Featured Topics New here?
