CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT (CWP CLASSES)

Comprehensive instruction that goes beyond the SLED requirements for obtaining a
SC CWP delivered with an enjoyable, non-aggressive teaching approach.



FIREARMS TRAINING

From pistol to rifle, we offer small group, basic and advanced instruction that
takes the student through all aspects of the discipline resulting in confidence
with a firearm. Personal training is also available.

Classes

Helping good people develop the skills to avoid becoming a victim and acquire
the permit to carry the tools in case they do.

My dad always taught me you get what you pay for. There are a number of
instructors out there offering CWP classes. Some of which share the same goal of
getting you in and out as fast a possible at the lowest price. We call them
rubber stamp instructors. Carrying a gun comes with a level of responsibility
you’ve never had before. One bad decision can land you behind bars for life.
With stakes that high, do you think choosing the fastest, cheapest class is the
best way to go?


WE THINK NOT.

Take your CWP class from an academy with a track record of teaching as much
about the lifestyle as the law. One that teaches as much about conflict
avoidance as with shooting fundamentals. Before you enroll in that $50, rubber
stamp CWP class, ask yourself if maybe spending a little bit more might actually
be a better investment. After all, it really is only about as much as a large
pizza.


COMPREHENSIVE INSTRUCTION

Joe Shahoud has been a handgun enthusiast and an advocate of personal defense
his entire adult life. He believes no one should ever be a victim and strives to
make a difference one student at a time.

Joe’s an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor with certifications in NRA Basic
Pistol Shooting and NRA Home Firearms Safety, he’s an NRA Certified Range Safety
Officer, holds the required certification by SLED to teach and administer South
Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) classes, and is the exclusive
ConcealedCarry.com Network instructor for South Carolina.

Joe is a proud member of the NRA, The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep
and Bear Arms, The Second Amendment Foundation, The Freedom Faith Coalition,
Minnesota Gun Rights, The Idaho 2nd Amendment Alliance, and is featured on the

My Instructor was really patient and nice through out my session. He made sure
everyone was comfortable and ready when it came down to the actual shooting part
of the session.Update: I just completed the CWP course and my instructor Joe did
an awesome job at teaching the class. He took his time making sure everyone
learning the laws and properly concealing their firearm. I can’t wait to take
future classes

Great experience with Keith - great demeanor, built confidence in us as we
practiced the fundamentals of Pistol 1. Incredibly knowledgeable and experienced

Derek was very knowledgeable and easy to understand for me and my two sons.
Being novices this class was very informative & instructive. The hands on

Took the CCW permit course & was impressed with how much I learned! Joe was very
informative & also entertaining which kept the class very engaged. I feel a lot

I’ll admit that I was a bit nervous when it came to the CWP training course
because I didn’t know what to expect. However, my instructor, Joe made the class
extremely fun, and comfortable for us. He explained that yes, it’s normal to
feel nervous and anxious because obtaining a CWP comes with so much
responsibility, but he reminded us that we have the right to protect ourselves
and our loved ones. Joe made sure that we had the proper information and
training on how to handle a weapon, and how to make sure that we are protected.
Joe had a Right to Bear Self-defense Protection representative (Chris) explain
to us the importance of having a company protect you and your family, which I
highly recommend.In addition, Joe explain different types of weapons that one
can carry for self defense before reaching for your gun/pistol. He has quite a
few gadgets that may be useful such as pepper spray and tactical pens, which I
ended up purchasing.If you are looking to obtain your CWP license, I highly
recommend Safe Family Defense! I guarantee you that you will not be
disappointed.

Today I attended the SC CWP and conceal weapons course with a group of friends
and it was amazing! Joe was thorough and went into detail with how to handle a
gun properly and explaining SC gun laws. Thank you Joe for such an amazing

CWP certification & CWP Refresher courses were the absolute BEST! Mr. Joe was
clear, concise and on command! His knowledge and compassion for gun safety and
law. The facility is very well structured and the qualifying range was perfect.

Pistol 2 is an excellent class. Worth every penny. It was fun, interesting, and
challenging, introducing new concepts and skills that improved my understanding

Joe did a great job teaching not only concealed weapon SC laws, but also
situational awareness and how to plan to keep yourself and your family safe and

Just attended a South Carolina CWP class at the Mid Carolina Rifle Club. Its an
all day indoor class with outside range shooting. If you are a Veteran, (and
there are other categories)you can be exempt from the live firing for score.
Likewise when you go for your fingerprints if a Disabled Veteran you can be
exempt from paying the fee. It is a lot of serious info to be taught in such a
short time so don't sell yourself short and continue to refresh your knowledge.
The instructor (Joe Shahoud) was very knowledgeable and a super person. If you
have fire arms, even if you don't intend to carry, you owe it to yourself to get
educated. Firearms are a serious and legal way of life. Don't sweat the test,
pay attention and no problems I scored 96/100 on a 50 question test and I am a
retiree. Come on down and get enlightened.

Great class! Joe and his team are true professionals and are very knowledgeable
and passionate in their teaching/instruction. They didn’t just teach the minimum
to obtain your CWP, but ensured you understand firearms safety/handling from

Great class! Retired military have had a CWL for 8 years. Needed qualifications
for a SC license. I took Joe's class. And learned a ton. He's very
knowledgeable, and really drives home all the importance of training saftey, and

Very Knowledgeable of the subject being taught in CWP. Open Communication is

I was nervous for the first time to hold a weapon, and Keith Made it very
comfortable for me to hold a weapon and shoot a weapon. He does very well to
explain every situation when it comes to. Handling a weapon and purchasing a
weapon. He's also also very patient. When it comes to Asking question and

Never held released or been close to any firearm so I was beyond nervous but it
amazed me how in 3 hours Mr. Keith took my nerves away and gave me
confidence-yes it’s about my own thinking but when you can trust the teaching
and experience of the instructor that goes such a long way I highly recommend
them- He is super smart and instinctive and is there with you each step of the
way -I am so happy I attended and didn’t let my nerves prevent me from

This man is passionate about what he does, has the background and training to
back it up, and shares his information in an easy to follow and matter-of-fact
way. This was my second class as I attended one for a different state and I
