HOW TO SET UP DIRECT DEPOSIT WITH CHIME

Setting up Chime direct deposit is easy! You can do it in the app or hand in a
form to your payroll provider. Use our step-by-step guide to get started.

Chime Team • October 20, 2020

At Chime, we’re all about bringing you financial peace of mind. Whether it’s
getting your paycheck earlier,¹ getting support when you overdraft, or working
on your credit history, Chime has your back. And the first step to unlocking
these awesome features is setting up direct deposit.

If you haven’t set up direct deposit yet, you’re in the right place. We’ve
outlined three ways to deposit your paycheck straight into your Chime account.

HOW TO SET UP CHIME DIRECT DEPOSIT

To set up direct deposit, you’ll need your routing number and account number
handy. You can find this info in the Chime app under Move Money and then Set up
direct deposit.

On this screen, you’ll see your account number and routing number. While you can
set up direct deposit with your employer by copying your account and routing
number, it may be easier to hand in a completed direct deposit authorization
form or even find your employer in the Chime app.

DIRECT DEPOSIT FORM

To set up direct deposit via form, open your Chime app and go to Move money,
then Set up direct deposit.

Tap Get completed form, and we’ll email you a completed direct deposit form as a
PDF. On the form, you can designate whether you want your entire paycheck direct
deposited into your account or if you want a specific amount or percentage
deposited instead.

Just email this form to your manager or HR department, and they’ll take it from
there.

Prefer to work on a computer? You can print or download the same form on
chime.com. Just log in and click Move Money to access the form.

HAVE CHIME DO IT FOR YOU

If your employer or payroll provider is supported, you can also find them in the
Chime app. At the bottom of Set up direct deposit, you’ll see that you can
search among more than 30,000 employers, payroll providers, and unemployment
agencies directly in the app. Just tap Find employer to begin your search.

EMPLOYER PORTAL

Chime makes it easy to set up direct deposit in the app, but you can also grab
your account and routing numbers and sign up through your employer or payroll
provider instead. Here’s how:

 1. Log directly into your payroll provider portal (like ADP, for example) to
    update your payment method.
 2. Enter your account information into the portal.
 3. Choose the amount of your paycheck you’d like to deposit and save your
    changes.
 4. Confirm with your Human Resources department, payroll provider, or manager
that everything was set up correctly.

Note: You can follow the same steps if you’re depositing unemployment benefits.
Just make sure you’re using your state’s government portal instead of your
payroll provider.

Direct deposit capability is subject to payers' support of this feature.

THE BENEFITS OF DIRECT DEPOSIT WITH CHIME

Once your direct deposit is set up and approved by your employer, you can expect
to receive your first Chime deposit within your next two payment cycles.

On top of that, you’ll unlock all kinds of new features as a Chime member. Here
are a few:

GET PAID EARLY¹

Get your paycheck up to two days earlier1 with direct deposit. This is a feature
we offer by making your money available as soon your employer sends it – which
is often up to two days before some traditional banks make the funds available
to you.

Wondering how it works? Here’s how Chime gets you paid early.

SPOTME

Our SpotMe feature lets you overdraft up to $200 on debit card purchases with no
fees.² All Chime members with $200 or more in qualifying direct deposits over
the last month are eligible for SpotMe.

CREDIT BUILDER

Eligible Chime members3 can get the Chime Credit Builder Secured Visa® Credit
Card. This secured credit card can help you build credit over time by offering
automatic payments and reporting your progress to the major bureaus every
month.4  There’s no credit check to apply, plus it has no fees, no interest, and
no minimum security deposit.5

New to fee-free overdrafting? Here’s like a pro.

Chime is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services and debit
card provided by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A.; Members FDIC.
Credit Builder card issued by Stride Bank, N.A.

While Chime doesn’t issue personal checkbooks to write checks, Chime Checkbook
gives you the freedom to send checks to anyone, anytime, from anywhere. See your
issuing bank’s Deposit Account Agreement for full Chime Checkbook details.

By clicking on some of the links above, you will leave the Chime website and be

may differ from those of Chime. We recommend you review the privacy statements
of those third party websites, as Chime is not responsible for those third

1 Early access to direct deposit funds depends on the timing of the submission
of the payment file from the payer. We generally make these funds available on
the day the payment file is received, which may be up to 2 days earlier than the
scheduled payment date.

2 Chime SpotMe is an optional, no fee service that requires a single deposit of
$200 or more in qualifying direct deposits to the Chime Checking Account each
month. All qualifying members will be allowed to overdraw their account up to
$20 on debit card purchases and cash withdrawals initially, but may be later
eligible for a higher limit of up to $200 or more based on member's Chime
Account history, direct deposit frequency and amount, spending activity and
other risk-based factors. Your limit will be displayed to you within the Chime
mobile app. You will receive notice of any changes to your limit. Your limit may
change at any time, at Chime's discretion. Although there are no overdraft fees,
there may be out-of-network or third party fees associated with ATM
transactions. SpotMe won't cover non-debit card transactions, including ACH
transfers, Pay Anyone transfers, or Chime Checkbook transactions. See Terms and
Conditions.

3 To be eligible to apply for Credit Builder, you need to have received a
qualifying direct deposit of $200 or more to your Spending Account within the
last 365 days of your application. The qualifying direct deposit must have been
made by your employer, payroll provider, or benefits payer by Automated Clearing
House (ACH) deposit. Bank ACH transfers, Pay Friends transfers, verification or
trial deposits from financial institutions, peer to peer transfers from services
such as PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo, mobile check deposits, and cash loads or
deposits are not qualifying direct deposits.
4 On-time payment history can have a positive impact on your credit score. Late
payment may negatively impact your credit score. Chime will report your
activities to Transunion®, Experian®, and Equifax®. Impact on your credit may
vary, as Credit scores are independently determined by credit bureaus based on a
number of factors including the financial decisions you make with other
financial services organizations.

5 Money added to Credit Builder will be held in a secured account as collateral
for your Credit Builder card, which means you can spend up to this amount on
your card. This is money you can use to pay off your charges at the end of every
month.

6 Chime received the highest 2021 Net Promoter Score among competitors in the
industry according to Qualtrics®. Chime was the 2021 #1 most downloaded banking
app in the US according to Apptopia®.
