At the end of the summer we'll be getting married at the beautiful Wilderness
Wood in East Sussex. We are so looking forward to it and hope that you will be
able to join us in celebrating on our wedding day! Before telling you the
details, here's a brief story of how we met...

We met for the first time in February 2012. We were next-door neighbours and
James had come over to Katherine's house in need of help. We quickly formed a
close friendship that led to Katherine moving in with James and his housemates
for her final year of university. Feelings grew during that year and we started
dating when Katherine moved to London.

Since then, we have travelled together throughout the UK, Europe, and Kenya;
reared chicks in James’ office, and watched countless films together.

A little over a year after we started dating, on the 3rd October 2015, James
proposed with a handmade ring atop a mountain in Switzerland.

The location of our wedding, Wilderness Wood, is a family-owned working woodland
with 62 acres of chestnut coppice, beech, Scots pine, Douglas fir, cedar, and
giant sequoia trees. It is not a typical wedding venue and they host only a few
rustic weddings each year, so we are excited to be getting married there.

Running order of the day
1pm - Arrive for ceremomy
3pm - Drinks and photos
4pm - Dinner, speeches and cake cutting
6pm - Music, bonfire and toasted marshmallows

Things to note
- The venue is entirely outdoors, so while solid heels are fine we would advise
against stiletto heels!
- We are hoping for a dry sunny day, but please do be prepared and bring wellies
just in case.
- PLUS ONES: There are many people we’d love to invite to our wedding, but we
are limited by venue capacity and so we’ve had to be selective. If you wish to
bring a guest with you, please let us know well in advance; we will do our best
to accommodate you.

Wilderness Wood is easily reached by car, approximately 40 minutes drive from
Brighton, and there is free parking on-site. If you plan to use a Sat Nav, you
may find yourself directed onto a residential side street rather than the car
park, so do keep an eye out for signs once you are close!

The address is:
Wilderness Wood
Hadlow Down
East Sussex
TN22 4HJ

The nearest train station is Buxted; a taxi from there should take about 6
minutes. Alternatively Uckfield train station is about 15 minutes drive from
Wilderness Wood.

Unfortunately there are no bus services near Wilderness Wood on Saturdays.
However, there is a National Express coach stop at Uckfield bus station.

We anticipate that many people will be travelling from similar locations. If you
plan to travel to the wedding by car and may have spare seats, or if you think
you may struggle to travel to the venue and be looking for a car share, please
let us know so that we can try to match people up. Please also let us know if
you are planning to stay overnight: we can send you a £25 discount for booking
accommodation with Airbnb if you haven't used it before. Camping is available
for free at the venue from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning, but there are no
showers.
For those who have asked to see our gift list, we've registered with John Lewis
(list number 683568) for some things that would help us to set up our new home
together - please do not feel obliged. If you have any questions at all, or need
any further information, or just want to chat – here are our contact details. If
you have problems on the day itself and need to get in touch, please contact
Holly or Mark rather than us, as we’ll be busy preparing to get married!
