The engagement with the delegates has been excellent. It is the first time we
have done this and it has been really interesting to me to meet a number of
people at different levels across various organisations and it is something
we're looking forward to following up on. I would definitely recommend it both
to suppliers and delegates as something to look at.
Joint CEO, Ashford Solutions

For the actual engagements during the forum, the level of engagement was of a
high level and of an honest level, so there were certainly no time wasters,
solidly, you can never say what these sorts of events will produce but I think
the next couple of weeks I expect to be positive in terms of follow up.
Founder and Director - Symfact

Our client base tends to be General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officers and Chief
Procurement Officers of large international businesses, whether they are FTSE
100 or Fortune 500. Certainly in this conference, one of the most useful things
has been that there have been a lot of decision makers who have budget, who sign
off and who take decisions.
Co-Founder and Director - NewGalexy

As a legal technology conference this was an excellent event
Head of Legal - Aurora International

It was worth the trip from South Africa for the one-on-one pre-booked meetings
alone and there was some good stuff around quite a few of the presentations as
well. I think I'm going away with around a dozen good early seeds of
relationships.
Joint Head of Corporate Commercial Department - ENS Africa

I think the main attraction is the calibre of companies and the people that are
here, a lot of diverse sectors and also the skill levels and seniority.
Legal Compliance and Regulatory Counsel - Orange

The highlight has been I think the quality of the people we have been able to
interact with. I would say it's always good to go to these sessions because no
matter how progressive you think your own thinking is, if you don't go to these,
you can become blinkered in your approach. Now the world is moving so quickly so
even if you’re on top of your game today, in a year's time you won't be because
things have moved.
ETS General Counsel, Unilever

The format is unique and interesting for both vendors and delegates. The food
has been good, the venue did a good job of getting people organised into the
lines so that there weren’t any delays, we’ve had fantastic weather and the
grounds are beautiful.
CEO, CLM Matrix

Speed networking was quite a fun experience. It's always difficult to get a full
pitch in 4 minutes and get interactive, but as a taster to what some of our
providers do, I thought it was a great idea and a good opportunity to meet and
network with people.
Legal Counsel (Digital), Accenture

I'm impressed with their level of organisation and what I loved was the fact
that actually everything seemed planned and rehearsed and they had kind of
thought about pretty much everything in terms of the organisation of the event.
It is the little things that make a big difference so that was really important
and helped gel the day. There is a significant amount of value that you get out
of spending time with such a senior level legal and compliance audience, so for
us it has been highly beneficial.
EMEA Marketing, Seal Software

Corporate Counsel exchange ideas at this event in an efficient and highly
convenient way
Chief Legal officer - DWP

You meet like-minded people in similar roles and it's great to have similar
conversations and share learnings and share experiences
Group Ethics and Compliance Director and COO - BT

The highlight so far has probably been the speed networking - the ability to get
in front of 100+ delegates in the space of probably less than an hour.
Chief Innovation Officer, Premonition

I recommend this General Counsel forum to everybody within the industry to come
to network to learn about our profession and take that time away from the office
to have that networking opportunity
Legal and Regulatory Manager - National Grid

With the depth of conversations I’ve been having with attendees, I sense that
people are engaged at the right level and have a real insight in issues that we
look at for companies.
EMEA Regional Chair, Exiger

I think the quality of the speakers is top notch, there's people from worldwide
organisations, Microsoft and Toyota for example, and the thing that I like very
much about this event is not just the presentations from world class individuals
but also the networking that you can do in the time between the presentations,
and that's I think where we General Counsels and Compliance advisors get the
most benefit.
General Counsel - Harper Collins Publishers

The group discussion sessions have been good. The general data protection
regulations are coming into force and it's good to get some know-how of what
other people are doing.
Group General Counsel & Co. Secretary, Croda International PLC

The prime reason why we are joining this particular conference for a second year
is because of the quality of the delegates, the quality of the institutions they
represent and the geographical diversity.
EMEA Specialist Consultant, Hewlett Packard Enterprise

The seniority in the business levels is very high. The sort of people I have
been having one-to-one meetings with over the last 3 or 4 hours has been general
counsel, senior legal counsel, lawyers... so we are not just dealing with
assistants in legal teams. The people we're talking to are the people we like to
go and see are actually in the law firms or in those particular companies.
Account Director, Thomson Reuters

Very well organised and executed. I will certainly recommend it to my
colleagues.
Head of Risk Regulation & Compliance Programmes, FDM Group

I attended the General Counsel Strategy Forum as I am looking for development,
new ideas and innovation in the legal market, which this forum is perfect for.
Corporate Counsel, Caterpillar

The event was, I thought, brilliant. Very well organised, lots of really good
calibre companies represented and lots of interesting GCs, assistant GCs and
Chief Compliance officers willing to share their challenges and experiences.
There is simply no comparative conference forum that brings all the diverse
industries across the financial regulated and corporate sector together like
this. This year really demonstrated how the glacial shift towards a more
universal coverage model across all areas is increasing from where it was 2/5/10
years ago. It also showed how the industries which were lightly regulated
previously are having to up their game - there are a lot of new challenges and
work for them. Looking forward to next year and again I am very happy to help in
any way I personally can.
Chief Compliance Officer, Thomson Reuters

There's an opportunity over a day and a half to really reflect on developments
with a senior group of people, so it's a wonderful opportunity to share ideas
and determine how we go forward.
Assistant General Counsel - Microsoft

The informative sessions were excellent in the main room.
Head of Compliance and Control, SODEXO

I think the one-on-one meetings that last 15 minutes have been fantastic.
There's been a level of prequalification that enables us as suppliers to
understand exactly what the areas of interest are for that particular individual
that you're meeting. The quality of the delegates and their areas of interest
have been frankly the most appealing thing and the most successful thing about
the entire conference.
Global Head of Legal process Outsourcing - Integreon

Good balance of speaker sessions, networking and sponsor meetings.
Chief Legal Operations Counsel, GE Capital

Well organised, it was helpful to hear about the service propositions. Very
enjoyable and useful event!
Legal Counsel - Digital, Accenture

My main reason for coming to a forum like this is to have a look at the
diversity of different businesses and opportunities within compliance. I think
having worked in compliance for some time in an investment bank you get to see
that side but now you get to see a lot of different types of businesses and
opportunities outside of that realm.
Managing Director, BAML

Business meetings were well set-up and managed to time. Set up a further meeting
with one already. Excellent speed networking.
Head of Compliance & Assurance, Serco

Vannin's here today because we wanted to find a different conference or forum to
demonstrate who we are and what we do. We do many legal conferences and forums
but we saw a real opportunity with coming to the General Counsel and Compliance
Strategy Forum today.
Chief Marketing Officer, Vannin

The speed dating meant that we're able to connect with every delegate at the
event so in terms of post-event follow-up, it makes that a lot easier to be
honest and a lot more effective.
Head of Business Development, ContractPod

Thank you very much for the invitation to the event which I attended. It was
extremely well organised and enjoyable.
National Compliance Officer, Enterprise Inns plc

The big draw for me was actually the opportunity to go and meet some people who
are probably experiencing the same sort of business issues that I am. This
provided the opportunity to compare notes and talk about best practice in an out
of office environment, engage with some suppliers, talk about technology and
really have a day out the office thinking about things that I don't often get
the time to do.
European Counsel Accident and Health - Chubb Insurance Group

The conference was thought provoking and insightful, thank you.
Group Legal Head - Giardo PLC

We have met some potential leads and we have set up some follow up meetings, we
are going to do a detailed demo, and they’re going to discuss with their
stakeholders and we are hoping to have business from them.
CEO - Leaflet Corporation

Great content, great speakers and well organised. Looking forward to the next
one!
Associate General Counsel and Commercial Director, Hitachi Consulting

THE SPEAKERS THOUGHTS - GENERAL COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE STRATEGY FORUM 2015

WELCOME TO THE GENERAL COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE STRATEGY FORUM

The role of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officers has evolved
significantly and increased in complexity, particularly amongst the world’s
largest companies. Such legal and compliance leaders have had to adapt swiftly
to changing political and economic landscapes whilst aligning departments with
wider business objectives and regulatory compliance issues. With inconsistency
across multi-jurisdictions, companies wishing to grow in new markets now face
real compliance and legal challenges. Potential fines can cause significant
damage but are only equalled by negative reputational impact which can seriously
damage a company’s brand.

The General Counsel & Compliance Strategy Forum brings together the finest
thought leaders and solution providers in a two-day compliance and counsel
networking event which promises to inspire debate through our world-class
engagement platforms and ultimately broaden your expertise to add real value and
insight back into the organisation you represent. As an in-house legal team
leader, you have the opportunity to exchange ideas through one-to-one business
meetings, speed networking and group discussions. In addition, there will be
think tanks, panel sessions and presentations focusing on hot topics. Through
this, you are given the opportunity at the forum to meet with innovators
offering legal tech solutions, including legal technology supporting Contract &
Document Management, Litigation, LPO and IT Security.
