Our Mission

BeWell in School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Nashville,
Tennessee that teaches mindfulness and movement-based stress reduction tools in
schools and communities.

OUR IMPACT

Our first Pilot Program at Warner Arts Magnet Elementary School, in East
Nashville, Tennessee, launched in the 2019-2020 school year. After just the
first quarter of the school year, our impact caught the attention of NPR’s local
and national producers.

STUDENTS SERVED BY BEWELL

We serve over 4,500 students daily at our eight Gold School Partner sites. An
additional 1,000 students are served at other partner sites.

MINUTES DEDICATED TO MINDFULNESS

Our partner schools begin and ends the day with roughly 2 minutes of
mindfulness. As part of the daily announcements, the Principal or BeWell Teacher
leads the school through a breathing strategy and affirmative “I am” statement.

REDUCTION IN BEHAVIOR REFERRALS

In the first year at our Pilot School, Warner Arts Magnet Elementary School, the
school logged only 33 behavior referrals. This compares to over 150 the previous
school year.


OUR PROGRAMS

We bring mindfulness and movement to schools, workplaces, and communities. Our
programming is malleable to suit your needs. Our strategies, rooted in breath
and movement, are appropriate and effective for people of all ages. It’s never
too early or too late to learn effective tools for self-care and
self-regulation.
