DineStayWeddingsFunctions Best of MetroWest Awards 2019 MetroWest Daily News "Longfellow’s Wayside Inn in Sudbury was the top prize winner, taking home four awards, one each for Best Fine Dining, Best Romantic Restaurant, Best Local Tourist Attraction, Wedding Venue." "This is a must-do kind of place if you are visiting in New England! The gracious, centuries old inn makes the most of its historic setting. The food is excellent and bountiful with an accent on New England favorites like, scrod, chowders, chicken pot pie, butternut squash and homemade bread basket. There is something for everyone with a special flavor of history mixed in. Reservations are encouraged." BeefEaterOlives TripAdvisor "Step back into history and dine where Longfellow did...well, at least once. The front pub will give you an authentic feeling of what life was like back then and has a pub menu and great drinks. The rest of the restaurant is fabulous - excellent food and atmosphere, and vegetarian options as well. There are several rooms that have been left as they were and are museum quality. It's a pretty amazing place and people there, both staff and customers, were very welcoming." Billyc842 TripAdvisor Slide 2 of 3. LEGENDARY TALES. TIMELESS EVENTS. This incredible segment more FAST FACTS: SONY MOVIE THE UNHOLY With its bucolic landscape and historic buildings that capture the traditional New England aesthetic, The Wayside Inn Foundation often rents portions of its property to outside organizations for cultural projects and artistic endeavors. Over the years, many major Hollywood movies have been filmed on the property under location agreements. During the spring and fall of 2020, The Wayside Inn Foundation entered into an agreement with Sony Pictures to film a creative adaptation of the 1983 novel Shrine by British writer James Herbert on the property. The film was written, co-produced and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos. The Wayside Inn Foundation staff welcomed a positive and professional working relationship with the cast and crew and were pleased that the site could serve as attractive set locations. Sony filmed broadly on the property using interior and exterior locations with the agreement that, given that the film was fictional and not based on any true historic accounts, the locations would serve as fictional locations or sets for the movie. However, location credit at the end of the film was permitted. The Wayside Inn Foundation does not have control over the specific content of the film or its release date. The release date is at Sony Pictures’ discretion. The Wayside Inn Foundation does not take a position on endorsing the film, its content, or interpretation.
