This unit is compulsory for all workers who may be required to provide CPR whether in community and workplace settings. This course includes defibrillation (AED) training. Therefore, if you are looking for AED training, this course will provide you skills and knowledge to operate AED. THE COURSE IS DELIVERED BY A QUALIFIED INDUSTRY SKILLED TRAINER AT OUR WESTERN SYDNEY SKILLS HUB 410 CHURCH ST, LEVEL 3, SUITE 34, AT NORTH PARRAMATTA FOR GROUP BOOKINGS ON SITE OF YOUR PREFERENCE Prerequisites Whilst there are no prerequisites for this course, it is expected that you have adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills and computer skills to be able to interact with peers, trainers and completing the theory assessment on line via MOODLE. You will also need to be physically fit enough to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR on the floor. This course includes the following unit of competency: * HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation Delivery Strategies The practical component of this course is delivered via face to face in a classroom environment with a qualified and skilled trainer. The theory must be completed on line via MOODLE prior to the practical class. Learning strategies include role play, demonstrations, lectures, and classroom activities etc. The duration of this unit is approx. 2 hours. Assessment Strategies The assessments involve a variety of activities including knowledge questions, demonstration of performance, and observations. All participants will be supported by our qualified and skilled team throughout their learning journey. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled class as late arrivals will not be admitted. The candidate must show evidence of the ability to complete tasks outlined in the elements and performance criteria of this unit. What does the assessment involve? Please note assessments for this course involve significant work both during and after the sessions. You will have maximum of two attempts to submit your assessments. Any additional submissions will incur a fee. You will have the opportunity to complete Option 1, which is assessment evidence or Option 2, which is workplace evidence and industry currency of 2 continuous years as a trainer and assessor. There is also theoretical knowledge that will need to be completed, regardless of Option 1 or 2. Pre-requisite for this course Those undertaking this qualification must be able to demonstrate vocational competence in their proposed training and assessing area. You will need strong language, literacy and numeracy skills to be able to successfully complete the required study and assessments in this course.
