The Future of Eco-designed Vehicles

Plastic omnium awards prizes for its innovation challenge 2022

As a leader in sustainable and connected mobility, Plastic Omnium organized the
Innovation Challenge “ The Future of Eco-designed Vehicles ”, in partnership
with SoScience.
The goal? To accelerate innovation by drawing on collective intelligence in an
Open Innovation approach, bringing together start-ups, manufacturers, academics
and, of course, Plastic Omnium teams to imagine disruptive solutions for “The
Future of Eco-Designed Vehicles.

85 applicants, 16 collaborative projects, 8 finalists. The 3 winners are :
– Grand Prix for Innovation: SMART POLYMER BUMPERS, with smart materials
enabling extended vehicle lifetime
– Jury Special Award: KIWEE, the alternative mobility service for suburban
transportation
– Audience Award, chosen by the participants: EP TENDER, making long range
electric vehicles more accessible

These 3 teams will be financed for 6 months and will benefit from Plastic
Omnium’s support to develop their project.

This open innovation approach nurtured passionate exchanges and amazing
collaborations: a great way to meet the challenges of a more sustainable
mobility.
